Anyone familiar with Aberdeen MD?

This would be a good stop off point for one of the legs of our drive to Disney. Can someone tell me if this is a nice area? How are the hotels off 95. We are thinking of Red Roof Inn, Travelodge, Quality Inn or Days Inn. Holiday Inn and 4 Points Sheraton seem rather pricey.

Well, I know it is the original home of Cal Ripken. I used to live up in Bel Air, which is near there. It may have changed since I lived there. It has a military base, Aberdeen Proving Ground. It should do just fine for a stay over. You may also want to check into hotels in Edgewood which is just a couple of exits down from that.

It's a "military" town, thanks to Aberdeen proving Ground. But relatively safe and would be a good spot for a one-night layover.
