We were off-site for Jeanne,we were at Epcot the day that it was announced that "she" was going to hit, park closed at 5.00,airport closed at 6.00.We were confined to our hotel for 36 hours until the all clear,we had to stock up on snacks & drinks as there was nothing open & all the staff from the hotel were at home so no food.Within a couple of hours of the all clear everything was back to normal.Always go in Sept, just got to look at the fact that Hurricane season is May until November so you could in theory go in June & still get one!

We have been through 2 or 3 when we used to be down in Miami, obv they tend to worry alot more on the coast. I agree about Orlando and Disney, straight away things are literally back to normal. It would never put me off going during Hurricane season, in the 23 yeas I've been going I have never been in a serious hurricane, did however miss huricane andrew by 2 days when we were in Miami!!
We went back a year after and the beach at the hotel had litteraly been washed out to sea. There was maybe 15 ft of sand before you got to the water and in the distance therewere big dredger boats pumping sand back to rebuild the beach.
The whole thing took them over 2 years

we were there through hurricane jeanne and disney were great, wouldnt put me off going again this time of year

We even got married there last sept and there were hurricanes looking like they were heading for Florida but didn't worry us

We were there through that one as well and all of them turned into nothing. We got the tail end of one I think can't remember which one but the rain with that one was huge it was the 30th and we was coming out of the TTC had to wait in car for 30mins before we could drive but disney was very good, security were everywhere helping people get to their car. I would certainly go in August/September again and am booked for next year, infact last year had better weather than when ive been in July.

Thanks so much for all your feedback. This is really interesting stuff!

Anyone had any damage to a hire car or anything akward like that?

we were at all star sports and the lights on the roof were flying everywhere but no damage to the car, I think that if they know you have the car and there is a hurricane they cant blame you as its nature.
