Anyone every stay in the park without ticket for MNSSHP?

We were at the MVMCP on Dec. 14, a sold out night, and none of us were ever asked to show our wristbands.

Maybe because that's the one night of our entire trip that it poured torrential downpours, and they figured that if you were there in that weather, go for it. We did have our wristbands checked a couple of times that night ... I remember it being a pain because of the long sleeves and the rain ponchos, but mostly it was when we were crossing from one land to another.

As an aside, the fireworks were very disappointing because it was drizzling at the time, so the smoke didn't clear ... we never really saw the finale. But it's a gamble with these events because they go rain or shine, and the parades and fireworks are not guaranteed, weather dependant. I would do MNSSHP again, and we hope to do P&P in August because it's new, but I will never bother again for the MVMCP ... the atmosphere just wasn't the same as trick or treating.

I find it very shady that people who ask questions like this tend to have less than 10 posts to their names...these people most likely know that asking such an obvious flame begging question is only going to start an argument...it's like asking something like "Would it be wrong to keep my three year old from talking at the gate so that she'll appear less than three and we won't have to pay for her to get in? Any thoughts?" (THAT argument went on for pages and pages on the family board! )

When we went to the MNSSHP last year they were very good about continually checking for wristbands. We even had to have a wristband on our 1.5 yr. old because we were told "Everyone has to have one if they want to stay in the park for the MNSSHP". My 1.5 yr. had a fit with the wristband for awhile but eventually got used to it, good thing because I would have hated to have left him at the resort by himself. (just kidding on that last statement)

Our 1 year old did not wear one last year. They didn't give us one for him. Go figure.

We are at WDW now and they are checking for wrist bands for EMH at the rides for the first hour.

I know it's not a party, but I'm glad they are checking at EMH in the eve because it is crowded enough with just resort guest.

If they see you they are suppose to ask you to leave. I will be honest and tell you that if I saw you are realized you did not have a wristband and were hanging around for the parade and/or shows I would find a CM and turn you in. I agree that it is not fair to those who paid for the party to have it overcrowded by people who didn't. (And I don't think I will pay for the Halloween party again, just not my thing)

I would never consider doing this because what would kind of example would I set for my kids. I only asked because when we went to MNSSHP last year, there were these kids in front of us on the monorail on the way back that had no wristband and were talking, rather loudly, about how cool it was that no one stopped them and between the four of them, two guys, two girls, they had like 4 bags of candy each. So I was pissed because I just spent about 80 bucks and got only 4 bags of candy total between the four of us!

or, perhaps it's possible, that they removed their wristbands and were just experimenting to see how people would react to them.

more power to them too for getting 4 bags of candy each with the way those lines move. they couldn't have been doing anything else all night.

Interesting take on this... yes I've had less than 10 posts, but I've also been reading forever, over a year and a half now. Usually, I can find things that other's have asked and relate to it, but this is one thing that pissed me off in our last visit.

The one time I did a party we called it "Mickey's Very Soggy Christmas Party." It rained/poured all night. The parade and fireworks were cancelled. We still had fun - it was the first time I had ever ridden Dumbo (due to long lines every other time). You haven't really experienced Dumbo until you ride it with rain pelting you in the face.

a tip for the future - my ds has autism and hates wrist bands too. I usually bring a safety pin and pin them to the back of his shirt (not just for disney - this works for local attrations too)

Thankfully CM's were asking people to leave without the wristbands....there were several people on the boards last year who were going to try it and once it became apparant they would be likely to be caught they didn't try and stay. I for one, was a bit ticked that they would even try, it really isn't fair to those of us who purchased a ticket.

As much as I just defended people that aren't on property being allowed to stay for EMH (although not ride the rides), I have to just as vehemently object to someone that has not bought a ticket to one of these events staying in the park after it has closed for the ticketed event.

That is just simply wrong. People paid extra to attend these events, and they also don't expect it to be super crowded either. That's like me going to watch the Superbowl and sitting in someone's seat, even though I never bought a ticket. It's taking up space that you were never warranted to have.

In all seriousness...why didn't you ask it that way? I'm certainly not the question format police, but the way you asked the question made it sound like you were considering sneaking into an event you didn't pay for and considering your odds of getting caught... Were you looking for opinions on both sides? I'm just wondering. I've seen entire message boards shut down b/c people can't stay away from questions like this and arguments go on for pages and pages. I like the DIS...and lately there have been A LOT of trolls. I know that people can just not answer questions they have a problem with, but this place is full of people who are passionate about Disney. Rule breaking is frustrating and people want to sound off about it. So I was just questioning the validity of the inquiry. That's all.

We went to the P&P Party in Feb, and CM's were checking wristbands like crazy. They went through the crowd waiting for the Pirate Tutorial and several people were escorted away that didn't have wristbands on. I know we were asked to show our wristbands at least 7 times, I don't remember if it was more than that, but I remember DH commenting on the #. We had to show it at each attraction and ride.

We had the same experience at the P&P Party, ironically at the Pirate Tuturial as well. I told my DH that I was amazed at how the CM still sounded so nice and friendly when he was kicking people out of the park.

I was interested in this because I already have ADR at the MK on a P an P night this August (reservations made before P and P announced) and am now deciding whether to buy P an P tickets and just stay in the park after dinner or change the reservation. I wouldn't sneak in though! I seem to remember CMs being pretty strict about the bands at MNSSHP a few years ago. What an awful example for anyone to set for their kids.

when we went last year the CM's were actively asking to see wrist bands walking through the park, at the candy lines, and getting on the rides. I was very happy after all the skepticism prior to last years new set up/procedures.
