I did yesterday, and what a difference it has made. Took about 3 pounds off!!! Can't wait till the swelling is gone, and to see how the new girls look, and to buy a cute bra for once will be great!!!:)

Congratulations. I have thought about it from time to time. I was generously endowed before kids - now after 2 kids, well, you probably get the picture. It probably will be lots of fun to buy a cute bra and have clothes fit better too.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm a BIG proponent of reductions. I've had several patients had them done over the years, primarily for back and neck problems rather than cosmetic concerns. Without exception, everyone has been pleased with their results:) :) :) ..............

My coworker had one and it changed her life! She had to go in for some extra surgery last week and she confided in me that she had had it done four years ago. Her prior size made her life so miserable and she told me the change was immediate!

God bless you in your recovery and your new life!

I know several women that have had them (including my SO's niece, she had it done when she was 17 yo). All of them are happy with the results.:)

I hope you're mending well.:)

Congratulations. This is something I have been thinking about for a few years (post children!). I am afraid though!!!

I wish you the best and a speedy recovery!!

Congratulations! If I weren't planning on having a big family and nursing my kids, I would do it in a heartbeat. That may be how we ceremoniously end our baby-making years. :)

I've had one!! I'm almost to my 1 year anniversary. I went from a DD to a B, and I'm very, very happy! It sounds like you are feeling well, I was up and about and on my own with the kids about 6 days after my surgery, so my recovery wasn't bad at all. Have you been on the BreastHealthOnline.com site? They're great over there, with lots on info and support! Congratulations, and feel free to PM me with any questions!

I haven't had one, but one of my very good friends had it done when we were in HS, it really changed her life for the better. All these years later she has no regrets.

Best wishes for a quick recovery and happy shopping for the new bras.

I was going to, but my insurance company never got back to the doctor's office on whether they would pay or not.  Doesn't matter now because I've come to accept, they are here and I've found some LOVELY bras in my size. Yes, I'm a DDD!! But I'm also tall and I have a bigger bone structure. I've noticed when I work out, they become easier to handle because my back becomes stronger with the work-outs I do. Doctor told me I couldn't go too much smaller than I already am because of my build. I think I would look really odd with C's on my chest. I would be happy to be a D again, but I've got them and I'm keeping them. Dilliard's has some really cute matching bra sets and for a woman my size, that's GREAT to see.

However, congratulations Aide4 on your reduction and I hope you heal well.

I've thought about it but my DH would have a fit. Mine are a 34DD but I'm very short and only wear a size 2 in clothes. My only saving grace is that apparently they don't look that big. Even salesclerks look at me like I'm crazy when I ask if they have any bras in a 34DD. I've even got the "Oh honey, I think a 34C would be closer to your size" until they see me try to squeeze into one! So I guess that's a good thing. I've had one child and when I nursing I thought I was going to fall over everytime I stood up! They were horribly big but thankfully they did go back to the size they were before I was pregnant. I was ready to smack the nurse in the hospital with one of them when she told me I really should be wearing a bra. Like I was doing it by choice!! All the nursing bras I brought to the hospital were way too small and I couldn't exactly go shopping while I was still in the hospital!

Good luck to you! I'm sure you'll be very happy. I'm almost 35 now and I may have to reconsider this myself as I get older and gravity takes over!

Congratulations. My friend had it done because of back problems and she said it was the best thing she ever did.

My mom has been talking about getting it done for years, but something else has always come up (my dad having a heart attack, they needed a new roof, my dad facing possible layoffs numerous times). She is a DDD and is overweight (but not obese), and always has been. She has permanent indentations on her shoulders from her brassieres and her upper back is sloped. It makes me very glad that I'm blessed with the Bitties. (DH might beg to differ)
Anyway, golf clap for you being brave enough to do it. I might just get back on my mom about it now.

Yep, did it about 7 years ago - DD to C -- and my only regret is that I didn't do it much sooner. It was rough having to go through my teens and young adult years being stared at like I was some kind of freak. Plus clothes fit so much better now and I feel so much more comfortable. The only problem is that my scarring is pretty bad, but I think my doctor was kind of a quack. Still, it was worth it! Congratulations on yours.

I was a B before my first child and went to a C after that. Just had #2 and I went from C to D. After my first I started having bad lower back pains and they seemed to get worse when I got pregnant again. I would LOVE to go back to a B and I plan on it one day. My sister however is an A and she would LOVE to trade places with me. :)

My sister has been considering this for years and she will probably be getting it done in the next year. She wants to go from her current DDD to a C or D. She's starting to have back problems. One of my cousins did it and it changed her life E to a D. I'm the small chested one in my family as a natural D.

Wow!!! Is all I can say!!! If you are thinking about it, I would definitely say go for it!!! I had been wanting it done for years and finally got up the nerve to go ahead with it, alot of my problem was shoulders aching all the time. I was also overweight, and have lost 43 pounds since last September, and the ONLY part that did not shrink was the boobs, so we went with the reduction. At this point, I am VERY glad I did it, just knowing the difference. My plastic surgeon said today, it was like basically taking a bag of sugar from around your neck!! Anyone contemplating this procedure, I would be happy to answer any and all questions....and yes, I did find breasthealthonline...it is a great website!!

One of my good friends had it done, the transformation was amazing. SHe was very petite and having very large breasts not only made her look overweight, they also weighed her down, so to speak. Lots of back and neck problems.

After she had it done she looked like her breasts matched the rest of her, she was more in proportion. 15 years later she says its the best thing that she ever did.
