Anyone ever wear a pedometer in the parks?

I don't know what one i have maybe fit bit but it does not count bumps and bounces it only counts when i'm walking or running. even on the bike it didn't work for me at school. On this subject I've done about 10 miles in two weeks when i was out doing a lot of things.
I love mine and it helped me keep going when i took walks around here when i saw i was only .20 from a mile or something i decided to keep going

I wear a fitbit every day at home and average 12 or 13,000 steps a day. I cannot WAIT to see what I get at DLR this summer.

But how do you think it's calculating that? It basically does so somewhat by 'bumps.' That's how the product works according to their website...linked above.

"Other factors can create enough acceleration to meet our threshold and therefore cause some over counting of steps, such as riding on a bumpy road. Equally, it's possible for the algorithm to undercount (not meet the required acceleration threshold). Examples here include walking on a very soft surface such as a plush carpet."

Ok Just finished Disneyland resort yesterday and averaged 9 miles a day. I had knee surgery 5 weeks ago so I didn't walk as much as the family. I sat down to rest sometimes.

In February we ranged from 19K to 27K per day. Not a lot of floors climbed, though. :)

Haven't yet been to DLR, but I have taken my Body Bugg to WDW several times.

I LOOVVE MY BODY BUGG! I've had ADVANTAGE for years until I just messed up the USB port and couldn't charge it anymore. Then I replaced it with the CORE (because I DO NOT want to have to use a phone to see my data, I like the watch display but that's just personal preference, if you like smart phone hook ups, get the LINK.) But it took me 3 CORE units to get one that worked (VERY VERY uncharacteristic) but it has been golden since!

So you can see my data from my print screens. Nice thing about the Body Bugg is that is counts all the calories burned, moderate AND vigorous activity and sleep (and I dont have to change the settings, it already knows), along with steps AND sleep. (I think my bugg was charging over night on the one, that's not very much sleep! ;)

So here is the data sheet for Hollywood Studios Day (we didn't hop this time):

We ate a BUNCH that day and I could tell I wasn't sufficiently worn out, so we actually came back and hit the pool after. The lines were ridiculous this day so most of it we just waited around or ate our fancy dinner to see if the lines would die down. Back in the day before the aps, you would have to run all over creation and check the wait times on the boards, but those days are gone.

Here is the data sheet for SeaWorld day. It had been a LONG time since we had been, and we walked around a bunch going the wrong way or taking the long way around because we didn't remember how to get around. We also had to back track a bunch because they have show times etc that you build your day around vs just riding rides.

Every will likely agree if you have been there that EPCOT is the Death by Walking park. Here is EP:

As you will notice, the steps are much higher on this one. (I should also qualify that I had to go back THREE TIMES to the photo processing place to pick up my Disney Rewards cards photos, because they weren't ready every time. So I ran back and forth in between a little ride here or there and then finally it was done and I could go to the World Showcase. So extra steps there.)

Last year, we wore our buggs when we did our 4 Park Hopping Blitz in April 2013. It is the one that has the highest logged day with just around 25K steps. Hopping takes a lot of extra walking plus we rode the ferries too late and wondered around the hotels trying to find an open bus or monorail and finally had to take a taxi back to our hotel. :rotfl2:

Love my body bugg! Will be interested to see the data next time I get to go to DLR hopefully fall/winter 2015.

On a side note, I wore it around the cruise ship (minus beach days of course) and those were also good for logging steps and exercise too!

I have thought about it before and really might get a pedometer and track our steps next time we go.

I wear a Fitbit and average between 17,000-22,000 steps per day depending on how late the parks are open. It's fun to track steps and see who took the most!

I just got a fit bit too. Can't wait to see how many steps I log in December at the parks. I am logging just over 10,000 a day right now. :thumbsup2

I've got the jawbone up24. On our biggest day in the parks on Wednesday we ended up walking 9.1 miles!!!

I wore a pedometer while at Disneyland one day a couple years ago and logged about 12 miles. We do a lot of park hopping and are very fast walkers. We usually stay at the BW Park Place Inn, a quick jaunt across Harbor from the park, and we do take several breaks back at the hotel, which of course adds steps.
