I was thinking of having some things delivered to the room so it is ready when we get there...

Anyone have any good or bad experiences??

they did exactly what they say.

but most of the groceries are in the general/gift shop at your resort - less expensive.

however if you have a car going to an offsite grocery store - Publix, Winnie Dixie, Alberston is much cheaper. If you don't have a car or car rental - then how about using a towncar service - they will do a grocery stop for you - if your family is 4 people or over - it won't cause more than Mears.

we used it this Thanksgiving (Nov. 24th). We faxed them the filled out list 1 week before we arrived at BWV and filled in a 4PM check in time, and there is a box on the form that we wished for the delivery to be 5:30. They never came with the groceries.

My wife called the front desk at 10PM to ask where our groceries were, and they deliverd them just before 11pm. However, many of the fruits and some of the vegitables that we had asked for were not delivered (but we weren't billed for them either).

Another non-Disney shopping service is WeGoShop.com. There have been a few very positive reviews posted. You might want to check them out.

We used WeGoShop.com last week and were very happy. They delivered to us 2x and were great. Well worth the $10 or 15 delivery charge. I will definitly use them again and recommend them.

Ugh...I used Netgrocer and the groceries didn't arrive until four days into our trip. This was pretty frustrating as we had to eat like crazy to use them up. Plus I had to buy $3 bottled waters for four days before the groceries arrived! I was hoping the delivery through DVC was better, but it doesn't sound like it is. I'd like to try it again, but not if the experience is anything like this last one was.

When we used WeGo.Shop.com I faxed a list 4 days prior. We requested a 5:00pm delivery. Bell services called at 4:55 to say our delivery was there. They(wegoshop.com) delivered right to our room. The second delivery was left at bell services, there were perishables, and a message was left in our room. We ran the gamut from fresh fruit, bar-b-que foods, milk and eggs.etc. Once again we were very happy with the service.

How much of a premium in price did you feel like you paid there (on top of the delivery charge)? I could easily justify letting them deliver for $10-15 a couple of times if the prices were not TOO terribly high.

I am big on valuing MY time too...and its work $15 to me on a vacation not to have to shop, but not if it cost me twice as much as if I just get my tushy in the car and drive to Publix right down the street.

I requested that they shop at Publics. I specified brand names when they were important to me otherwise I asked for storebrand. They give you the receipt. It was well worth the delivery price.

Kris, I have used DVC grocery delivery before at BWV. The groceries were there when we arrived however some things were missing. I don't think I will do it again though thru DVC. It is soooo expensive and the selection is very limited. I would like to look into the other delivery services that people are talking about. It would be worth it even with the delivery charge.

I'm not a DVC member, but let me say Wegoshop.com is great! I called them the day of the delivery because my DD had torn her shoe lace. I had them to shop at WalMart anyway, so she just picked me up some new shoe laces. It's ran in Orlando by a husband, wife and baby (he's sooo cute) and I found them to be more than I expected. They were prompt, accurate and very plesant. Well worth the $15 delivery fee, I also tipped about $15 because I thought it was worth more being on vacation and my time is valuable and who wants to shop anyway!

I have a couple of questions. Will any of the services deliver liquor to your resort.

And where is the closest liquor store to DTD?

I was wondering if they would deliver beer as well. I think one of DH's big resaons for wanting to join DVC is the large fridge to hold a case of beer! Those tiny ones in the resorts just don't hold very much. :flower:

I also highly recommend WeGoShop - they are great. They will shop for and deliver adult beverages :drinking1 however you may have to pay for an "extra stop" if they have to shop at more than one store to get your drinks. I think maybe just beer and wine are sold in the grocery stores (?) in FL. Not sure, as we went for the good stuff. I think it is only $5.00 extra to stop at 2 stores, so it would be well worth it to have them do this. They most likely will ask for ID if you look young when they deliver the groceries :D
