Our DD is about to turn 2! Ahhhhhh!!!! And my sister was going to buy her this really nice birthday cake, but she was laid off and I told her not to worry about it. I am now looking for a cheaper cake that can do the Disney Princess design. I found a really cute one at Sam's Club, but I am just wondering how good it will be. It is the right price and really adorable, but I just want to know it will taste good!

Anyone who has had one before, let me know! Or give me other ideas!! Her birthday is right around the corner! :goodvibes

I've had a Sams Club cake before, and it was good. They are really similar to Costco cakes imo. We've actually had cakes from Walmart before that have been fabulous, don't know if they are the same as the Sams cakes (being it is the same company), but I've had all 3 I mentioned here and they are all good.

We've had one and it was very good. Granted I was 7 months pregnant at the time so anything was good to me, but that cake was great!

I wanted to use Costco, but they don't have the Disney Princess one. They just have some random princess no one has ever heard of before! :rotfl: And that definitely wont fly with my DD!

Sam's Club has very good cakes--I get almost all of our cakes from there. Happy Birthday to your little one!

They are excellent, you won't be disappointed. I've gotten all our cakes there for years now. We like the whipped frosting better then the butter cream. Though I was at a graduation this past June and the butter cream was rather tasty. You can't beat the price either ! Lisa

We LOVE :love::love::love::love::love::love: cakes from Sam's

Ordering is easy, but we usually just go pick one out from the many they have there ready to go.

IMO everything Sams does is of good quality and the cakes are no exceptions. That's the reason that we are members. FWIW Walmart cakes are really good too.

We used Sam's for our kids' Baptism and were very pleased. If you saw the design and you liked it, I wouldn't be too worried that it would look and taste good. But if you want to feed your fears, then you can check out cakewrecks.blogspot.com and see how bad it could really be. Only do this if you are looking for something to worry about though! It is a hilarious blog otherwise!:goodvibes

I've never had a Sam's cake but someone above said that they are like Costco's - Costco cakes are bomb-diggity, and they are really inexpensive. :thumbsup2

I've had several from Sams Club and everyone has been great. I like the whipped icing best  The butter creme is also very good.

In our area we get free birthday candles with the cake. Pick them up at the bakery.

Sounds like we will be getting the cake at Sam's Club afterall! After all these great reviews, it sounds like we won't be disappointed! :goodvibes

oh I love all of sams cakes, I get the cherry chocolate cake a few times a year (forgot what it is called maybe german chocolate?) and it is yummmmmmmo. We did the birthday cake once and loved it! We liked it better then the average grocery store cake! You can't go wrong with getting a sams cake!

We have a "cake lady" who does custom birthday cakes for DS.

Having said that, Sam's cakes are so good that I have been known to buy them just because. :rolleyes1 They are really, really good. I prefer the white cake with whipped cream frosting. If I run across one in the bakery case it often ends up in my cart. Even if it goes stale before we finish it the price is really reasonable! :thumbsup2

We normally use a cake lady who does our cakes and they are fantastic! But since money is short this year, we had to cut back since she charges and arm and a leg.

Maybe I should go buy a Sam's cake - just to try it out.....;)

If you order a cake it only takes 24 hrs notice sometimes less. They do a fantastic job at decorating them too.

They are pretty good and VERY affordable. I personally loathe whipped cream icing, but their buttercream is okay. I actually like it better than Walmart's because Walmart's icing is tooooooo sweet. I also think they may give you free candles.....Not sure because DD always wants some outrageous candle creation, not the normal ones. :rotfl2:
