Anyone ever use Priceline for car rental?

I always use priceline for car rentals. What I do is find a cancellable reservation with codes, etc. that I can live with. Then about a month before my trip, I start bidding. I check hotwire.com with my reservation details to get an idea of what some great rates are, and then start my bid about 1/2 or 2/3 of that rate. You can only bid once every 24 hours unless you are changing parameters. I love priceline! Plus, a lot of the reward sites give you cash back too!

Don't know when you're going but for the end of May (before inc. mem.day) I got a Costco rate that is guaranteed (w/o prepay) and I think is the same or cheaper than Priceline when adding in fees. You may want to check it out going through Costco.com and clicking on travel line w/Alamo. We got weekly rate for an intermediate car $110 all in. Now to decide if we really need a car or use ME.

We used Priceline and Hotwire for the vacation we are on right now. Both worked out great, would definitely do it again.

i have. It was ok, it's just some people feel locked in, so possibly best for last minute. .....
