I keep entering things and then "chickening out." Has anyone used Hotwire and been happy or unhappy with it. The rental car rates seem very good, but not knowing "who" seems very scary to me! If you have had an experience please share!

Sally:D  :D

I have used them alot for airline tickets (not to MCO though)..and also for Hotel rooms in NYC. I have had very good luck with them!! I have not been dissapointed yet.

Used them for our night before we leave the magic behind : (
I did get Hyatt at MCO for a great rate of 71.00

patsal,
I only use Hotwire when Priceline doesn't come up with anything for me. Priceline always wins out in price if they have anything. I am referring maily to hotels. I have used Hotwire several times and been pleased. I just got my mom a hotel that came up on Priceline for $40 and I had to pay $65 on Hotwire. But, at the time Priceline wasn't giving me anything. Remember, both are non refundable so why not try Priceline for a lower price than Hotwire is showing you? Then, if nothing comes up for a lot less on Priceline, go with Hotwire.

Thanks for the replies--I guess I'll try priceline first and then hit hotwire if nothing comes up!

I've used Hotwire several times for rental cars, plus two times for hotels. No problems at all, and for the cars I've always gotten a big name - Hertz, Alamo, etc. The only thing I wouldn't use Hotwire for - or Priceline for that matter - is airfare. I'm just not willing to risk travel at unspeakable hours.

I used Hotwire for my trip in March 2002. They were pretty good as to use Priceline, you should consult a few different fan sites to get a good idea of how to get good prices. Hotwire lets you get prices without putting in a credit card number first. Plus they have a guarantee that the hotel you pick will be the cheapest available in a 48 hour window.

My advice is book a hotel that you can cancel and keep checking as your vacation draws closer Hotwire as prices tend to drop if hotels feel they wont be able to fill up the space. I booked my trip 8 days before departure and the hotel cost $21/night! :bounce:
