Anyone Ever Use Disney Gift Card to Put Toward Charing to Room

I’m trying to pay off as much as our vacation as possible prior to leaving. I understand you can give a credit card upon check in and charge to your room using your room key. I was thinking of purchasing a few $500 gift cards from the Disney Store to put toward charging on our room key. (Our room and tickets have already been paid in full.) Has anyone ever done this? I’d be really upset if I spent all this money on Disney Store gift cards and couldn’t use them for this purpose. Thanks for your input.

I have been able to use Disney dollars to apply towards our room charges on a couple of trips without a problem. My parents always buy us the disney dollars for gifts when they know we are going on vacation. We have never had a problem doing this. Just to be on the safe side ask at the Disney store before you purchase them.

Disney gift cards and Disney Dollars are two different things. I can use Disney Gift cards toward my cruise using DU but not Disney Dollars.

I was able to use Disney Gift Cards on our vacation in May to pay charges on my room key. I did have to put a real credit card on the room and then stop down at the front desk to pay the charges with the gift cards before I checked out. Besides a few trips to the front desk I didn't have any problems
