Anyone ever use a Moonwalk (AKA Bouncer) for a Birthday Party?

If so, was it a hit with a kids? And was it very expensive?

I'm trying to think of a "backyard activity" for DS's birthday (he will be 3) and I keep coming up with a Moonwalk (AKA Bouncer)

we get a bouncy for 3 parties each year. DS, DD and 4th of July parties. We pay $200 for 6 hours, they deliver, set up, and take down. The company I use has the cutest ones, Disney's Cinderella castle - it was HUGE, it barely made it under our Oak Tree - Jeff Gordons NASCAR for the boy and for the 4th of July we get the flag. It is sooo worth the money. 2 good things happen with the bouncy.....1) The kids are away from you and 2) they are so tired from bouncing all day, there are no arguments when bed time approaches!

We actually bought our own, it was much cheaper in the end and the kids love it. A friend of mine actually borrowed it last month for her DD's party and put it up in her livingroom. It was a hit. They come in different sizes, I think I paid $250 for ours. Costco has a nice one right now $299. We have also taking it to family reunions. The kids play on it all the time, easy up, easy down.

we also own a 10x10 bouncy we bought it at TrU about 2 years ago, it was about $200 but that in no way compare to the 20x20 that we rent for our parties. Those have to go for at least 2000. THey're huge

We've rented before. We only spent $80.00 for a bouncer specific to DS's birthday theme, but we picked it up, set it up ourselves, and returned it the next day. It's more expensive if you want them to deliver and set up.

Set up and take down was easy.

I don't know any kids that don't love bouncers so I think it would be money well spent.

Just make sure your kids understand what "rental" means. One of my friends rented a huge dino bouncy thing for her daughter's third birthday party. The day after the party she heard her screeching in the yard. "Daddy killed my dinosaur!!!" The poor kid thought the thing was her gift and didn't understand when he deflated it to send back to the vendor!

We did this for DD13's 7th bday. That was the best and easiest party we ever did! Send everyone out to the backyard, everyone's happy and having a good time, open gifts, have cake, jump some more, send them all home. And no one is messing up the house! It was GREAT! I think we paid about $125.00, but that was nearly 7 years ago.

We have moved on past the bouncers to the blow up rockwalls with a jumpy at the bottom. My kids love it. For the younger set I would think just the jumpy would be fine. Ours range in price from $100 to $200 and that is for an all day rental where they do the drop off and set up.

:thumbsup2

My DIL did a Carnival theme for our DGS 7th BD party and rented one. I think it was about $100 w/$50 deposit and the company did all the work. The outside theme proved to be a lot of fun and very exciting for the children, as they were given tickets for hotdogs, popcorn, drinks, etc. and win little prizes playing games.

Yes, we have rented them several times. It's always a lot of fun for the kids, but adult supervision is a must.

My next door neighbor rented one for a party and the kids (all girls) were trying to push the bounce house over, as usual they had no adult supervision. My DH was working outside and got to see the whole thing. Some girls were pushing from the inside, while others pulled on the outside. One girl was climbing up one of the mesh sides on the outside, all the pushing and pulling caused her to lose her grip and she fell to the ground. She got hurt and that was the end of the bounce house. Anyway, it was really an accident waiting to happen because the neighbor's daughters tried to do the same thing years ago, when I rented a bounce house for a party. The mom got upset when I reprimanded her girls for doing it and angrily told me that bounce houses were even designed for adults to jump in. Yes, they are designed for jumping, not for toppling over.

LOL, my niece did something similar on her 4th birthday. She took her grandmother by the hand, pointed to the bouncer and said "look what my parents gave me for my birthday!"
