Anyone ever track 2BR booking patterns?

We will be traveling in April 2018 -- it won't be near Easter, but it will be during the dark side marathon and during most of the New England states school break. We own AKV and are planning on booking the first portion of our trip there and then the latter at another resort (10 day trip).

I am just curious if anyone has tracked the 7 month booking trends for 2BR. I know things can change from year to year, but my guess if there are tough to get 2BR now that trend will likely continue.

We will be a party of 7 so i guess we would have the option to book 2 studios if needed.

Well, in terms of any 2BR that are lock-offs, the general pattern that applies for studios will give you the prediction for 2BR units.

For dedicated, it's more complicated. I suspect @drusba probably has some detail.

Your issue will be mainly the dark side weekend (which for DVC reservations runs from Thursday through Sunday). Outside of that time, two bedrooms are highly likely to be available at 7 months out at BLT lake view, BWV pool/garden, VGF dedicated 2BRs, VWL (now BRV) dedicated and lock-off 2BRs, and of course, SSR, OKW and AKV standard and savanna view. Also a chance for BLT theme park view and BCV. If time includes the last week of April you may even have a chance for BWV boardwalk view.

As to the race weekend, VGF dedicated 2BRs are likely to be open. BRV dedicated 2BRs have been open for that weekend but I suspect Copper Creek sales will start first quarter of next year (no, I have not heard anything specific) and competition for the existing BRV at 7 months out could increase because the new Copper Creek owners will view BRV the bargain hunters preference at the resort since the Copper Creek rooms are likely to require more points than BRV. BCV is likely to be gone and BWV pool/garden and BLT lake view are iffy, both lost 1 to 2 days of the race weekend in 2016 and 2017 before 7 months out.

Since I work in a school in New Hampshire, we usually take a vacation to Disney during the last week of April. We don't have a problem switching to different places at that time. We always book our home resort at 11 months, and have never not been able to go somewhere else. Last two years was GF. We always get the 2bd dedicated.
