.....by way of the Boardwalk?

I like it because when I go to WDW I never want to bring my workout clothes, so I want to walk as much as I can -- it's pretty, a little lonely at night though.

I also love it when I can avoid a bus!!!! ;)

We do this all the time when we stay at the Epcot resorts. DS has a wheelchair and I also love it anytime I can aviod a bus.

I've never done it when it was totally dark though. I bet going under the bridge is a little lonely. I always think it is amazing more people don't do this. I think the path will be crowded and it's almost always been just DS and I.

I've been going to WDW for years and never knew about it! (Is there a smiley for "we're stupid"!) We usually stay at MK resorts - I guess that's why, but my family and I wanted to were at EPCOT one night and said, offhandedly to a CM, "Can you walk to MGM from here?

I think I may have learned about it here. I have quite a nose for sniffing out ways to avoid the busses with DS, especially when it is the end of the day. I also think with all the walking most families do they'd rather take the boat then walk. It is overwhelming if you don't walk on a regular basis. I'm like you and figure I've just got my workout in for the day. When we stayed at BWI, I actually used it as part of my early morning walking workout path.

So um, you got out through IG, past Beach Club, then just follow that sidewalk over to the Boardwalk and keep going? I've never done that - maybe this trip for something new. If my parents' are up for it, otherwise, we might just take the boat over - I've never done that either.

Yes! When you get just past the Boardwalk you make a left (there's a sign "TO MGM") and follow the river (creek, canal, whatever that is...). It's a very nice walk.

We do this each trip. I love to take a leisurely stroll. And we prefer not to wait with the "masses" for a bus/boat whenever we can.
We are staying at the BCV for just this reason, the ability to walk to both EC and MGM.

I've done it a couple times, and also walked from MGM to Epcot. This was a few years ago when I wanted to see the Osborne lights, then make it over to Epcot for the 8:15 TOD (?) parade. It was 25 minutes-park security to park security and I didn't take the short cut. If you're going to MGM, from IG, , go past BWV, take the "short-cut" going into Village Green and cutthrough to the pool (I think you go right past the workout room and rest rooms), bear left past the clown slide, out to the sidewalk where you go left to MGM.
