I just got a call from a market research co. that I signed up with a long time ago to go participate in a focus group tomorrow afternoon. It's sponsored by Arby's or Subway (the gal didn't know which, since I had to have eaten Subway and *not* Arby's within the last month) and I'll get $65 at the end of the meeting.

They've called me a couple of times - once I qualified and chickened out, and another time I didn't qualify. I'm excited about doing this, but a little nervous, too. Just wondered if anyone here could tell me what to expect? :)

Hi,
I've done quite a few of them. You just sit there and give your opinion of the product. There will be one or two people who won't shut up and then there will be a few who don't say much at all. The people running the group will try to balance it all out. It's a quick few bucks. And once you start going to them, they tend to call you more.

Have fun!

I've done a couple of them ... sometimes they show you a commercial and sometimes you get to sample products. Usually there will be one or two people leading the session and there will be about 5-10 others participating in the survey. I've found that they usually take about 1-1.5 hrs... pretty good for the amount of money they pay :teeth:

Just wanted to post that I did the focus group (it was for Arby's -- cool new sandwiches! LOL) and we were each given $65 in cash when we left. Not bad for 2 hours' work, plus free pop and free food! :teeth:
