First off, I know that IQ tests are not reliable or %100 percent accurate. This is more or less just out of curiosity, and for fun.

Ok, so who here has taken one? (I mean a real, stanardized test, not some quiz you found on the internet. However innacurate an IQ test is, one you found on the internet is even more so.) I'm only talking about an IQ test that, for example, would qualify you for mensa. According to their website "There are no on-line tests that can be used for admission to Mensa". http://www.mensa.org/index0.php?page=10 <--- look under How do I qualify for Mensa? for that info.

1) What score did you get?
2) Who gave you the test? (Now, someone must have given you the test, a teacher, psycologist, representitive from mensa. Someone. A real IQ test is not something you can give yourself.)
3) How long ago was it?
4) How long did it take?
5) Do you think it is roughly accurate?

I'll go first.

1) 153 (I don't think that is correct at all, but we will get into that later.)

2) A psycologist. It was a part of a day-long test to see if I might have any brain disorders such as ADD.

3) About a month ago.

4) The IQ test, and all the little tests in it, took around 5 hours. There were many, many smaller tests in it. I mean lots. I was told I was done very quickly for this particular test, but I myself have no idea what the average finish time is. I scorred better in visual, pattern, and language. I scorred the worst in working memory.

5) No. I know I am a stupid person. 153 would put me at genius level, and I know that isn't possible. I would put my IQ at around 110 -120 at most.

Before we begin, I'll repeat that I know full well IQ tests are not reliable at all, this is all just for fun.

1) What score did you get? Never took one
2) Who gave you the test? Nobody
3) How long ago was it? Never
4) How long did it take? Who knows?
5) Do you think it is roughly accurate? No.

1) What score did you get? im not allowed to say--very very very high, though
2) Who gave you the test? (Now, someone must have given you the test, a teacher, psycologist, representitive from mensa. Someone. A real IQ test is not something you can give yourself.)a psychologist, i think
3) How long ago was it? about 9 years ago
4) How long did it take? well, because i was only a kid, we did it in installments. i went for a month or so every saturday; about an hour or two each time
5) Do you think it is roughly accurate? of course, otherwise i would be really mad--it wasnt cheap, you know :)

Why are you not allowed to say? Were you higher than the %99 percentile?

How did you get the IQ test? From what I've read, you have to be over 16 to have an IQ test taken without special permission.

Do you think you would get the same score if you took the test now?

No, they aren't cheap, are they? :rotfl:

my mom says i cant. i did have special permission. my mom just didnt want me to be singled out, so she doesnt want me talking about my score. it was so high they were allowing me to skip two grades in school...due to age differences, i only skipped one grade, though

My dad skipped two grades, because his IQ was over 200. Same deal with you?

1) My mom refuses to tell me.
2) A school psychologist gave it to me.
3) It was 3 years ago.
4) I went everyday for one hour for onemonth, it was supposed to take two months. I finished the whole thing in about 4 1/2 hours.
5) I think that it is, but i also think that it changes as you get older. So I'm due for another one;) .

Before I switched schools I was supposed to skip two grades. Then I switched schools and made all of the advanced programs. But I'm not that smart, at least, I don't think so.

yeah something like that

Interesting. Any way, since my Dad was so smart, and my Mom as well, they expected me to be smart as well, but nooooo.

O_o It is weird to think that when my Dad was my age he was in second year university. I can never compete with that. But he really did not like skipping years, he would never let any of us skip a year... not that I could've, any way.

My gifted and talented teacher gave us one a couple years ago. I think my score was somewhere around 130-140. Don't remember, it's very fuzzy.

1) What score did you get? 144
2) Who gave you the test? (Now, someone must have given you the test, a teacher, psycologist, representitive from mensa. Someone. A real IQ test is not something you can give yourself.) A school psycologist
3) How long ago was it? A couple of years ago
4) How long did it take? I don't remember
5) Do you think it is roughly accurate? Yes

I've never taken one.
And I'm very grateful for it because I don't think I could bear to see the results.

Honestly, I don't think IQ tests are always an indication of general intelligence. I realize people with IQs lower than I think 70 are classified as mentally ******** but some people with high IQs that I know, they might be school smart but in life....just clueless as could be. Not always the case though. This is just personal experiences.

1) What score did you get? 156
2) Who gave you the test? My psychiatrist
3) How long ago was it? I had just turned 16 3 months before, so a while ago.
4) How long did it take? It was spread over several visits.
5) Do you think it is roughly accurate? I'm not quite sure; I don't think I'm stupid, but I don't think I'm a genius or anything.

Exactly. Mine came out high, but I'm hardly even 'school smart', let alone a genius.

If I were I genius I would have obviously invented a time machine, anti-gravity device or some sort of ray gun by now.

Nomi, you say you're not that smart. Then why would you factor your IQ somewhere around 110-120? That is 'Superior Intelligence'. Just a little confused.

1) What score did you get? 154
2) Who gave you the test? This guy.. maybe a school phsycologist? No idea.
3) How long ago was it? 1st grade. So I was 7.
4) How long did it take? Like... all day. At least it seemed like it took all day. I was 7. xD
5) Do you think it is roughly accurate? Yeah, I do.

My first grade teacher asked the school or something for them to give it to me to see if I was qualified for the gifted program (which, I was). So it was free.

Interesting fact... a lot of people with high IQs are mentally ill.

Well, I'd say I'm average or just above. On the test I took, average fell between 90-110 (100 with a %10 leeway level). I would say I am high-average. Plus I would rather still be intelligent, I'll admit. I just cannot see myself being 153 smart. My marks prove that... >_>

Then again, the IB program can make anyone fell like an idiot. Still, IQ tests are not reliable, and the 110-120 I give myself only refers to what I think my academic ability is.
