Hi there Pooh

Thank you for answering my strange question. I figured that was the way it was but was hoping I was wrong. We are planning a sisters weekend and one sister refuses to fly and I was trying to figure out another way we could all get together in NYC later this year for a Broadway weekend. We live in different areas of the country and this one sister is the only hold out. Funny thing is she is one of the more well travelled siblings and you would figure it would be one of the others to be afraid. They are talking about gathering in Indianaplois if not NYC. Since I live near Indy it would be convenient but not as much fun but I will enjoy being with some of my sisters. Watch out Indy!!!!

Its the only way I'll travel. We have taken Amtrak from Ohio to Philly then to Kissimmee and from Ohio to Washington to Kissimmee many many times. Its the best, does have some draw backs but I won't fly and driving that far, 12oo miles is just too hectic anymore. Yes, its time consuming but to us, its part of the vacation. We relax on the way down and back. Prices for us have been, for 2 adults Ohio to Kissimmee down and back approx. 400.00..
With our accrued rewards thru Amtrak we have gotten the roomette from Washington to Kissimmee for free. This is a small room, other wise cost one leg I believe 150.00, included all meals for both of us. We will be doing this room again both leaving Washington and leaving Kissimmee. The seat folds to a bed, upper pulls down to a bed, you have a porter at your beck and call, peace and quiet the whole way, toilet in room, sink but its real small, just right for my wife and I. We get on Amtrak in Washington at around 4pm and head to our room, have dinner, great steak and retire for evening. Morning we get a newspaper, have breakfast, eggs, pancakes, french toast etc and out roomette is made up to seats and we enjoy the ride to WDW. We have used the reserved coach seats and its fine too. They now have, on some trains, quiet cars, no unruly children, for peaceful travel. Try it, its great!
