Lucas has moved on to size 2 now and I still have 4 big packages and a box of size 1.
I've been buying diapers with coupons/deals since I found out I was pregnant and so we have plenty and don't need to worry about trading them in for bigger sizes. We're probably set thanks to my couponing.

We know there is 1 more kiddo in the future, but it'll be well over a year until they're born. TRU won't take the box back OR exchange for a bigger size, I've already called.
I do have several pregnant friends I will most likely gift the 4 separate packages to.

So... enough rambling... think it's OK to hold on to the diapers for kiddo #2? Anyone ever done it?

I would think they would be fine for a few years. Don't they last in the environment for like 80 years after they are used:rotfl

They'd probably be fine. I ended up donating a few boxes to a local charity for low-income women who were pregnant.

try exchanging them at walmart (if they are name brand)

They're Huggies, but the box size is different than what WalMart sells since it's from TRU.

TRU won't take them back or exchange them for a different size.

The individual packs I'll probably gift... I've got 2 Pampers and 2 Luvs, so easily exchanged if I don't.

Thanks for the replies. :goodvibes I'll hold on to them. :)

What about babies r us? Will they let you exchange if you tell them they were a gift and are the wrong size? They have a better return policy than TRU.

If you have room to store them, I would just keep them. I have a rubbermaid container of newborn and size 1 leftovers from DS in our storage unit.

I have saved diapers for over three years now and they are still as if I just bought them. My dd got pregnant three years ago and I started buying diapers, she had a miscarraige and I just stored them away in a closet knowing that one day she will need them, she has still not been able to get pregnant again but when she does wam...she will have plenty of diapers...lol.

I'm so sorry. My best friend just miscarried in July. My original intent was to give her the huge box... but alas. I can't imagine the pain of a miscarriage.

Lisa_M, there isn't a BRU here. I'm not sure where the closest one would be. A few hours most likely...

They're going in a rubbermaid tote now. Thanks. :)

I think they will be fine stored away for your next one!

I work customer service at BRU and unfortunately, BRU return policy is now the same as TRU. TRU took over BRU and is now requiring BRU to adhere to the same return policy. Sure makes going to work fun! :sad2:

I had a bunch of diapers left over for my first DS - some that he just didn't use, and some that I didn't like. I donated them to the local homeless shelter.
