A friend of mine offered to give me his timeshare, as he is moving to florida, we are DVC members so he knows we go to disney as often as possible, has anyone ever stayed at Lifetime of Vacations at Grand Lake Resort? its pretty close, and the maint fees are $475, plus its a summer week - is it a nice place or ratty?

TIA

Lifetime of Vacations at Grand Lake Resort has to be one of the worst timeshares. It is a converted hotel on 192 about a mile east of Orange Lake. Even though it might be a gift your family is not going to enjoy the resort. Again it is a converted hotel.

So are you saying that it is not even worth the $475 in annual maintenance fees? If so, kind of sounds like maybe the OP would be better off to tell her friend "Thank you for the offer, but no thank you".

Best wishes -

They are selling deeds at this resort on EBay for 200.00. It's a converted hotel, I'd steer way clear of this one! I am used to DVC too and I Know just from driving by, I DO NOT want to stay there. A nice thank you, but no thank you would be appropriate!

Many timeshares aren't worth the yearly maint fees, I don't think that one is but I'm sure others know it better. You may want to ask about it on TUG as well.
