I am looking into renting a 3 bedroom condo at Windsor Palms. I have lots of time to look.....not going until Dec/2005.

The pictures look pretty nice, and it would only be $75 (2004 rates) a night, or maybe a little more the next year.

I have read a lot about the homes, but not about the condos. Has anyone stayed in one and how did you like it??

Also, how far from the pool is it from the condos??

Thanks for your help. :D

We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo at Windsor Palms this past February and thought it was very nice! We were probably in one of the farthest buildings from the pool and it would probaly take you about 8 to 10 minutes to walk to it. We always used our car though. The condo buildings are 3 floors high with 6 condos per floor. (I think it was 6) They all had screened in patios too, which was nice. There are some condo buildings right next to the pool, so you could see if you could get one of these. Any more questions, just ask!:sunny:

I stayed in a two bedroom condo at Windsor Palms last year. I think the condo's are closer to the pool than most of the homes (but most of the homes have their own pools I'm sure). The pool is within walking distance. We were on the 3rd floor, no elevators. It was a nice place. Each condo has their own screened balcony.

We stayed in a 3-bedroom condo at Windsor Palms in November. It was wonderful. We booked through this site: http://www.windsor-palms-resort.com/

The condo is very spacious. Ours was beautifully furnished and very nicely equipped. We were on the 2nd floor. As mentioned, there are no elevators so try to get 1st or 2nd floor if you can. 2nd can be better because the central air units for the building are on the ground and can be a bit noisy if you have the unit right near them so ask about that. The buildings have 8 condos per floor.

The pool is very nice. How close to the condos depends on which building you are in.

Here is a site map of the complex:

The condos are the hourglass-shaped buildings. The pool is next to the clubhouse.

Here is a floor plan of the 3-bedroom condos:

Happy to answer any questions.

We've never stayed off site before. Want to save some money with our accomodations next time and by having breakfast in the room.

If I can't afford to stay on site, I want a nice place off site. If I go too cheap (not just money-wise, but looks-wise also), I'll want to be on site the next time. And I just don't think with 3-4 children we could afford on site anymore, at least not with great discounts.

Thanks for all of your responses. I want to ask about Cypress resort so I'll start a new thread about that one.

Thanks again. :sunny:

I would like to stay here sometime, but in a townhouse. A cross between a condo and a home.

We stayed here with in-laws on our last trip for 8 days. Very nice for condo! We were in a building closer to the front gate than to the pool, so we just drove in the car. Although we liked the spaciousness, I still prefer a hotel with daily maid service. I wasn't too fond of making beds, cleaning the kitchen and taking out garbage on vacation. BUT...if we had kids with us, I'd stay here again every time for the space.

Just wanted to clarify - this thread is about WINDSOR Palms. Your trip list says WYNDHAM Palms. These are not the same place. At which did you stay?

We stayed at a Windsor Palms condo listed at VRBO in July 2003. It was wonderful, very close to the parks and clean and spacious. My family liked it so much, in fact, my parents decided to purchase a condo at Windsor Hills, which is the new development currently under construction by the same people that built Windsor Palms. It actually is located several minutes closer to the parks. If you aren't looking until going until December 2005, perhaps you may want to look into that area - it has the same floorplans as the condos at Windsor Palms, with several new additions (much larger and nicer pool area and clubhouse, and elevators in the condo buildings, to name a few.) (Our condo is due to be completed in September - we can't wait! :D )
