Anyone ever stay at Magic Castle?

I have. Yuck! :( It was several years ago, during a budget trip. But, we weren't pleased at all. There are sooo many hotels in the area, you can find almost anything for your budget. And, quite honestly, I would recommend Priceline. We tried it one year, and it was great! If you are interested, study up on biddingfortravel.com. It is very helpful!

If you want more info. on Magic Castle, do a search on the board. I have seen several threads about it before. Good luck! :)

I've stayed there often when I can get in early the night before a normal stay. For that, it serves its purpose. I've often been able to roll in at 10 PM during peak season and pick up a room for under $25. And they have a basic continental breakfast free. So for a quick swim, a couple hours sleep, a shower, and a bland bight, it serves its purpose.

That said, I wouldn't plan my trip around it...when it gets crowded, it's noisy. The pool gets jammed. And there's just too much better around to stay there a week. I accept that in that price range, I don't get any "Magic." But I think over a couple days, it would actually take away from the Disney experience. Nothing terrible, mind you. I don't know that I'd agree with "Yuk." Maybe "blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah."

We have stayed there 3 or 4 times for 1 night each time. It is an ok place for the price. However, all we ever do there is come in late and sleep get up shower grab a bite to eat and leave. For our family of 3 it cost right at 35 a night total. The pool is very small and I would call it crowded with 4 families in it. I would not plan a vacation there. We live about 1-1/2 hours away and just want a place for the night on the weekend. For a several day trip I would try priceline. A few weeks ago we stayed at the Hyatt through priceline for 38/nt plus tax & PL fee for a total of 48. but for a week it would be 248 for MK and about 300 for the Hyatt. Now this is not a great Hyatt but it is listed as a 3* and I would not think MK would even be a 1*. For $50 more for a week you would be so much better off at the Hyatt. Do you homework on Biddingfortravel.com and give priceline a try. We are going this weekend for 3 days and are staying at the Wyndham Palace Resort at DTD for only $65 a night.
