Anyone ever request a room????,.....Need reassurance!!!

Hiya~


I am staying at the Boardwalk starting this weekend (arriving on sunday). I sent a room request by fax yesterday. Do you think I waited to long or sent it too early???? My mom is the DVC member so she sent the request. Have you ever sent a request and had it met???? We requested a boardwalk view and I know this is hard to get but we would be so HAPPY if we did!!! We will be happy no matter what but would just be thrilled if our request goes through. We have been waiting to get this view at the boardwalk for 2 years!!! Since we went by their in may 2001!!

Anyway, Have you done this before and actually gotten it???

I am going stir crazy waiting for the Fax back!!!!

I have always requested a certain building, or to be in the vicinity of a certain room and have always gotten my request. I call the hotel directly 4 days before my arrival and ask to speak to the room comptroller.

Do you think it will be rude to call four days before since I also faxed??? Or since I did not fax to the room controller do you think it will be ok??? I faxed to the front desk...ooopps!!!

We have always had all our requests honored!!! Don't worry.... they do everything possible to make sure you are happy.

Unless DVC is different you will not get a fax back stating that your request was granted. You will find out when you check in. I always ask when I check in with requests and almost every time they have been granted.

I faxed in room requests for our stay (at AK and BC last year) four days prior to our arrival and I received everything I asked for. It definitely started our trip off with a nice splash of pixie dust!

Are you staying in the villas or at the Inn?
This will make a difference in getting your requests.

From my understanding when staying in the villas requests are granted as reservations are made. Meaning if you book at the 11 month window and request a BW view then, you have a better chance to get it then say, requesting it at 4 months.
I have heard of the faxing requests working for a regular room ressie, but not the villas.

Who knows though, maybe they have changed how it works.

well i guess we won't get one then. We made ressies in Jan and did not fax until monday

but............

WE WILL STILL BE AT THE BOARDWALK YAY!!!!

We tried all along to tell ourselves it is not the end of the world if we do not get the boardwalk view. Kinda disapointing but I do not know how we could be disapointed in DISNEY!!! YAY!!

Oh well atleast we know now.

You never know, people have reported getting the boardwalk view for a reservation only a short time before. On the other hand, I made a reservation at 11 months with the BW view request and didn't get it. It just all depends on how many people check out that day. If no one checks out of a BW view room with your room size, then there's no way. If a bunch check out, then you have a good chance.

I have made room requests such as waterview in the Contemporary Tower, building next to the Dig Site at Coronado Springs, and a room on the water at the Poly. All the requests were granted. I hope this eases your mind.
