We are thinking of taking one day just to shop in Orlando and wanted to rent a car from the Dolphin resort and return it that evening. Has anyone ever done this? If so, can you just leave the keys in a drop box or how exactly do it work? Also, does anyone know what rental agency is located there?

I believe you can leave the keys with the valet. I did it last September ,unless they've changed it.

Alamo and National both have counters at the Dolphin. The valet brings the car to you and you also return the car to the valet.

my son rented a car from the Dolphin for just 1 day and spent 100..we are renting a mini-van for 10 days and are spending 322..

The key is to pre book the car. You can't just go over there and expect them to give you a good deal.

I usually get a mini van for one day for about $49.....I usually rent for the day I arrive and the day I leave.....So, we spend less then $100 and have a car to do shopping and stuff for the first day. We usually stay at the BWV or Dolphin so drop off and pick up to head back to the airport is very easy. Though this trip I used Dollar at DTD because they had the best rates...and dropping off and picking up at the Holiday Inn at DTD was also very easy just not as convient as the Dolphin....

We don't need a minivan, just something to get us to the Belz outlets and maybe thinking of taking a day trip to Clearwater or Daytona. I just wondered if I call Alamo's national number if that is the best way to get the best rate??

 hi, check out mouse savers.com,we are getting a rental car from the Dolphin in January, an intermediate for 44.00 overnight and dropping it off at the tampa airport, where we are flying out ,so, we'll have a car to go to Universal studios and get to the airport. There are codes on her site for discounts, hope this helps!!!!!!! Have a great day!!!! Goof

Exactly right, book online with codes at the National or Alamo site.
Put in Orlando and It will ask where in Orlando and you put in Dolphin.

We rented for one day at the Dolphin last month. We did not pre-book, because we had not expected to need a car (ours had to have some repairs).

We got a free one-class upgrade and paid 44.00

we're renting a convertible from Dolphin for one day to go to Cocoa Beach during our stay next month. Checked online and the rate was around $50
