MY DD11 brought home her book order and wanted to get the first four books in this series. I've never even heard of them. I looked online and they do seem like something she would like, but I'm confused about the cards that are available. Do you have to buy them all separately and do you actually need them to get the jist of the books?

It seems like with the books and the cards, they could get pretty pricey?

My DS loves those books. He has 3 of them and got the rest from the library. From what I can tell, you don't need the cards to understand the books, although he has one pack and likes to mess with them; he's played games on the 39 Clues website, too. I think he got a couple of cards in the books we bought, but I could be wrong.

DS9 read them all this summer and really enjoyed them. He didn't do anything with the cards or the website even though I registered him.

Thank you for your responses. That makes me feel better that she can just read the books without all the cards. There are some on ebay for a pretty decent price, but they don't all include the cards, so I was leary of getting them. I think I'll go ahead with it now.

Thanks again!
Becky

I bought my daughter the first book at SAMS and then she brought home a book order forms from school and picked out the book she wanted and I saw that they had the set of 39 Clues so I ordered them. I just started book 3 last night.
