Anyone ever paint their ceramic tile counter top??

I heard you could do that. Mine is as old as the house...45 years!! It is in pretty good shape but it is an awful color...kinda yellowy yucky looking. We will eventually get new countertops etc...but in the meantime, I wondered if this is a "cheap" way to give it a lift.

I would actually like to paint it white.....or close to it.....

I wouldn't do it. I do ceramics and the ony paint that can be put on top are the undercoats/glazes that can be used (after firing) for putting edible thigns on and such. the paint would really chip off easily. (I hope you understood what I was trying to say here)
 
I would think cleaning the paint would be a read problem not to mention I don't think it would adhere.
 

Thanks guys...I did some searching and it IS possible...but they say it is a long process and should be left to professionals!!

Oh well, guess maybe I will try and regrout it....maybe that will make it look a little better.....
