Besides a tip, has anyone ever left a Canadian "treat".

I have a few US friends who I ship Vachon treats to occassionally. They love the Vachon Flakies. I showed them a website with Canadian goodies and they placed their "order" with me, lol.

I was thinking of taking something down for mousekeeping.

I have quite a few CM friends. Last year I brought some really nice Roots gear to a good friend of mine who works at the front desk of the GF. He LOVED it!!! :thumbsup2

As a tip; Coffee Crisps and ketchup chips seem to go over REALLY well. ;)

That is a great idea....LOL is their no ketchup chips down there? I wouldn't know because I don't eat them but boy do my kids ever love them! I was thinking of going to the store and getting some neat canuckie things to leave like miniature bottles of maple syrup...moose droppings (chocolate coated blueberries) etc...When we went to Mexico we left Canadian candy with our housekeeping tip and boy did they go bonkers over that! They love Canadian chocolate!

Nope; no ketchup or dill flavoured chips. :confused3

They do indeed love our chocolate. Hummm...they love our steak as well, but that might be a little difficult to deliver. :teeth:

Last trip I brought little maple candies and "moose droppings", on day 5, mousekeeping left us a thank you note.

My DD eats dill pickle chips like there is no tomorrow! Those we have. But ketchup chips? Never heard of em. :confused3

Just call me a lost American wandering on the Canadian thread. :teeth:

I will after today....good idea
money and a treat :thumbsup2

Our first on site trip (POFQ) I did and the mousekeeper seemed to enjoy them (she even picked us a bouquet of wildflowers for the room along with a couple of towel creations).

Our second on site trip (AKL) the mousekeeper didn't seem to care (one day she took the card with the cash but left the coffee crisps mini's even though they were ribboned together).

Last trip (BWI / OKW) I admit, I just left cash tips.

At Christmas time when we go, I usually pick up the individual boxes of chocolates.

Never thought of Ketchup chips? If I did, DD would probably eat them before we got them there! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Moose Droppings? Interesting..... :goodvibes

Geez, I gotta start cleaning your rooms so I can get those treats!!! (except the ketchup chips..yeccccch).

Many many years ago when we were in Hong Kong, my mom had a box of chocolates that she had brought over as a gift for relatives. I think it was a Pot of Gold or somethign similar. She ended up not giving them away but was really fond of the housekeeping staff member who made sure we were well looked after so she wanted to give her the box of chocolates (along with a tip.) The housekeeper said the only way she could accept the box of chocolates was if my mom wrote out a letter to her specifically saying that she was giving the chocolates to her. I guess this was the hotel's way of making sure that she didn't steal the chocolates. Extraordinary how things are done in other parts of the world. I wouldn't even have thought of that but now whenever I'm struck with a desire to give something extra to hotel staff, I think about that incident.

ALRIGHTY a woman who is after my heart :lmao: I remember the last time we went to the House of the Mouse. Eating at the UK and just devouring fish & chips -- of course swimming in malt vinegar that we had brought from home just in case. This little boy behind us stood up and in a VERY LOUD voice proclaimed to everyone "what the bleeep smells so bad? Did you change her diaper?" Mom tried to make him sit down but eventually had to pull him outside cause he was pulling napkin over his face and making gaggin sounds :lmao:

I don't care what it smells like, it is the ONLY way to eat fish! Hmm, the next time I want to clear a room, maybe I should break out the fish and vinegar. :stir: That could come in handy from time to time. :rotfl:

We usually leave a couple of bags of Clodhoppers; different flavors; and a thank you note.

I like ketchup chips. I don't know how chips would survive the trip.
