Anyone ever hurt at disney?

right after a downpour in the MK, my Mom slipped on one of the bridges and fell, hitting the back of her head...She sat on a bench for a while and was fine...We didn't report it or anything because it wasn't anyone's "fault"...it was just an accident.

Not at Disney itself, but at Disney Cruise Lines. When we tendered back to the boat, the ramp was hooked up improperly causing it to clamp down and crush ds's foot (he was about 4 at the time). Disney covered all the medical expenses.

Yes, but it wasn't Disney's fault by any means.

DH and I were at MK with a group of our friends. We were on one of the bridges on Tom Sawyer Island and DH and his friends were NOT obeying the rules and running across the bridge. I stepped down just as the bridge was coming up. I didn't anticipate the bridge coming up and my foot slammed into it. It hurt so bad.

I spent the whole evening hobbling around and finally, right before the Boo to You Parade (this was MNSSHP) I sat balling my eyes out and had DH carry (yes, really) me to the First Aid station where I continued to cry hysterically. The nurses were so sweet in the first aid center. They gave me asprin, wrapped my very swollen ankle, gave me a snack and some gatoraid as well as a wheelchair which was a lifesaver.

After a bit, DH wheeled me out to watch the parade and then we rode a few rides (bad choice on my part). We didn't report the accident as it wasn't Disney's fault in the slightest. I did, however, write a very nice letter about the First Aid station and DH and his friends bought me a huge ice cream sundae from the ice cream shop in MK. :)

I busted my pinky toe open getting out of a Test Track car in Dec of 2008. I didn't notice anything but some pain until I got to the Photopass counter, and the CM noticed I was bleeding. The CM insisted she call an ambulance, but I insisted she didn't, but she said I did have to go to the in-park first aide care center, which I gladly did, so she wouldn't call an ambulance.

The nurse at the first aide center checked it out to make sure it wasn't broken (like they could have done anything anyway), cleaned it up and put a bandage on it, she also cleaned the blood out of my shoe. And I got a good talking to from DH about wearing Croc flip clops to the parks, hasn't stopped me yet.

About two weeks ago my mom fell at Epcot coming down the stairs in the Land Pavillion.
I went to the gift shop & asked a CM where I could get an ice pack, the lady kinda shrugged and told me to try the first aid center in the Odyssey building. Another guest who saw my mom fall asked the gift shop lady for a bag, went to the soft drink dispenser, filled it w/ ice & brought it to my Mom. Very kind lady :thumbsup2
Turns out she had a fracture in her kneecap. Falling was totally her fault but I think the Cm who we asked for help could have least pretended to give a crap.:sad2:

Not at Disney but I tripped and fell at Universal a few years ago. It was my fault, I have bad knees and am not steady in a crowd when I have to change directions. The fall was so bad that I had blood running down my leg and I could barely walk. The meniscus in one knee was torn in three places and I ended up in surgery when I got home. No one at Universal offered any assistance. My husband and a nice couple helped me get to an area near lost and found where they asked for help. The only thing that the folks at Universal would offer was a small finger size band aid. Please keep in mind that I do not blame them in anyway for my clumsiness but you would think that they would have offered a little more help. At least something to clean up the blood or cover the wound. It was a long walk back to the Hard Rock that night and a lot of pain.

I tripped and fell in front of the Castle a few years ago. I gashed open my finger and went to First Aid. It was bad enough that they wanted me to get stitches, but for various reasons, I declined. They bandaged me up pretty well and sent me on my way.

I actually asked the nurses if they wanted me to sign a waiver releasing them from any legal obligation (I've worked for insurance lawyers) and they looked at me like I was crazy.

Yes. I didn't do anything.

My then 12 month old (roughly) was playing in the water area at EPCOT. She was about to toddle off and I zoomed after her and fell similar to how the cartoon characters slip on a banana peel. My own fault.

My only lingering issue was my wrist and I mentioned it in passing to my chiropractor who was able to adjust it.

Never occurred to me to pursue anything.

Also got a nasty cut on my toe last March at Coronado. I was a bit unnerved that noone came to help me since my blood was all over the floor. I had sent my husband for first aid supplies in the shop and ended up using my peroxide to clean up the spill on the floor. Figured that was better than nothing. Let bell services know a second time after we were leaving. I had no intentions of suing over my walking into the door. But I'm still kind of grossed out that they expressed no concern over my biohazard.

Both of these were my fault.

However, that doesn't mean that there aren't accidents that are the fault of Disney. When warranted, Disney should cover the costs of medical care.

Not me but a friends entire family got food poisoning at Cape May Cafe and a free return trip.

I observed a child get caught in the doors at the mono-rail and the CM who saw it stopped to see if the kid was fine, never saying a word to the understandably upset father, then walked away hoping they would go away, which they did. I thought the doors were supposed to open back up again the instant they touched the kid but they didn't, I saw the whole thing. Not WDW's finest hour, their employees are a reflection on them and I took this to mean the CMs are instructed to try and ignore as much as possible, if not WDW has some work to do.

I know that if I ever got seriously hurt I'd file a police report on my own, WDW should have insurance to take care of these things.

Yes. I twisted my ankle very badly at Epcot on my honeymoon. Went to first aid where they gave me an ace bandage, and then the concierge at BC got me a wheelchair.

My then 78 year old father tripped on one of the cobblestones in Fantasyland at Disneyland a couple of years ago. It was opening, and people were rushing past him. I was panicking, as I couldn't get to him (imagine a salmon swimming upstream), but by the time I did get to him, 2 CM's had already appeared, helped him up and over to the side, and were checking him out. He was fine, other than a scraped up knee, but they wanted to get him a wheelchair, or ice or something. He refused, and we went on our day. As we were leaving at lunch time, we ran into one of them again, and he expressed his concern again. It was nice to know how concerned they were.

Wouldn't think of suing, though. No harm done, and we even still managed to be 4th in line at Peter Pan that day!

Tripped outside of It's a Small World and broke my wrist. They put me in an ambulance to the hospital. Never heard from them again.

Yes. Last summer at EPCOT I was talking to a friend and not paying attention and didn't realize the curb stepped down. I sprained my ankle and scraped my knee. I don't think I was on the ground before 2 Disney Managers (they weren't in regular CM attire) were there. I told them I thought I would be fine but they called the First Aid folks anyway.

So, I'm sitting there on the curb for about 5 min when the 3 First Aid guys come with a gurney and all the medical equipment needed for any type of emergency. I am beyond embarrassed. They cleaned up my knee, iced my ankle, and gave me a wheel chair to use for the rest of the day.

They did take all my information, name, home address, phone #, resort we were staying at, when we were leaving, etc. I thought I would hear something from Disney but I never heard another peep.

I ended up hurting myself pretty badly during the 1/2 marathon. I'm not sure if it's because I didn't put bodygilde on my feet before getting into my socks, but I noticed around mile 10 or so that my left foot felt like it was on fire.

Once I finally got to the finish line I realized there was a SERIOUS problem. I was able to hitch a ride from the finish line folks out to my car in the parking lot. I didn't want to take my shoe off and get medical attention at the race because I was worried if it was a serious injury that I wouldn't be able to get my shoe back on.

The entire bottom of my foot was one big blister. I ended up spending the night in the ER because the pain was so severe.

For me, just 25 years of having strollers shoved into the back of my ankles. Most of the time, the stroller pushers felt bad and apologized, but sometimes they just kept pushing and shoving. I've often considered wearing padded boots to the parks...

My wife stepped on a bee and got stung (she's allergic) at the Caribbean Beach pool once. Another guest, who happened to be a nurse, ran into the shop and bought some benedril and the CM called EMS. The benedril worked and EMS was there within minutes. A manager also appeared quickly and never left our side until everything was okay. My wife declined being transported to the hospital since the benedril was working and she didn't want to miss HDDR that evening. The guest who bought the benedril would not take any re-imbursement so we bought her and her husband drinks. Everyone involved was great.

Just curious, what is "bodygilde"?????
