anyone ever hear of netspend

yesterday I get a mastercard debit card

its one of those that you can have money direct deposited to from employers and I think things like SS unemployment also

the name of the company is netspend

I never asked for this card nor any need for it

Im thinking its some sort of scam--Im not calling to activate thats for sure

has anyone heard of this company--just curious if its a scam

its a legitimate company. IRS refunds can be sent on that card. Not sure why they would send you one without you asking for it though. With refunds, you put on the return that you want it on a debit card, they send you the card to be activated and a short time later your refund is loaded on it.

Did you miss a change at your employer? Sometimes they change to a new payroll processing company and you have to update your direct deposit or they default to the netspend card.

Highly reputable as a debit card. I put a few dollars in every week just in case, and carry the card. If I use it I don't feel as guilty as I would charging something. I keep it for unexpected expenses. I also load it before vacation, so I have a preset amount handy without any interest charges.

My DD got one in the mail yesterday too. We just sent it through the shredder.

Sure, i got 5 Netspend accounts. FDIC. Backed by BofI and metabank.
their saving account is pretty cool.
