Anyone ever have anything stolen while at DisneyWorld?

Is it safe to leave things in your stroller while on rides, etc? I'd like to think so, but what has been your experience?

I would not leave anything that is of value or is irreplaceable in a stroller. Just because Disney is a great place to go to suspend reality for a while, the truth is that there are people who will take advantage of vacationers' relaxed attituddes. It's better to be safe than sorry. Take your valuables with you when you park the stroller.

Our last trip it was our first time at Disney. We were assured by the CM at the stroller corral that our belongings(including camcorder) would be safe while on SM(splash). Came off ride and found our stroller gone, along with our camera, video camera, and some souveniers. We were devestated. All our film of the trip was gone, and our daughter refused to ride in the disney stroller. Luckily it was our last day.

Unfortunately, yes people steal even at Disney:(
and worse even from children.

That really stinks!!!!!

:guilty:

...well, I don't know if you would actually categorize THIS as 'stolen', but, a few years back, we had eaten breakfast at Chef Mickey's and, of course, had gotten our pix taken next to the giant plate/fork/spoon. We purchased a package, inlcuding the magnet, and hurried off to catch the monorail to MK. We exited at the next stop, leaving the bag behind....about an hour later, when I realized that I had forgotten them, I hurried to one of the stores on Main Street to ask about a 'Lost and Found' - the CM gladly called to inquire about it for me, but no one had turned them in.... :confused3 why would anyone else want pix of a strange family??!?! (and believe ME, we are about as strange as they come.... :teeth: !)

YEs, my ballon was stollen...big mickey ears....it was sort of a test...I had my crappy stroller with me...and I also left rain ponchos cuz I didnt care if those disappeared....

IT was a possibilty the ballon flew away..but that was remote..because I wrapped it and tied it to the darn stroller..

so

YES people steal things at disney..it may be a magical place :rolleyes1 in more ways than one!!!
: )

I wouldn't leave anything in the stroller that will ruin your trip if it diseapears (especially film/cameras/autograph books).
Usually (although I'm not promising anything here) little things, like ponchos and such usually seem to stay put.
It will always be easier to bring that camera bag and backpack with you in line (all disney rides allow you to bring bags on) than leave it in the stroller and risk it being gone when you come back. If it doesn't ruin your trip...it will probably upset you the rest of the day, at the least!

I bought a camping pack at Walmart for about $8 . I can put my camera, diapers, snacks, powerade, and even a change of clothes for my son in it...
That way you dont have to leave anything on your stroller...

Is this a fanny pack and a tote bag or what? I'll have to get one of these now.

IT has a fanny pack likeness but it is no ordinary fannie pack..it has lots of room and even two water bottles that come with it to put on each side ( not in picture) I just put my powerade in place of the water bottles! IT is in the isle where the camping stuff is at any WAl MArt!

It's worth every penny!

I would never leave items of value in a stroller in WDW. One time I left a backpack with all the tickets, fast passes and money in Tomorrowland. I left it there unattended for 30/45 minutes and it was still there when I rushed back to get it. Luckily for me that everything was still in the bag.

Disney is no place to disregard your common sense. If you've got expensive items, don't leave them unattended.

I have always left our diaper bag in the stroller, of course, there is nothing in it that I couldn't live without. The camera and money I keep with us at all times.

Duh!! Know that now! But at the time the CM said it would be safer then getting it wet on the ride(pre-DIS,did not have ziplock bag handy)and assured me that he would keep an eye out.Hmmm now that I think about it maybe the CM took my camera..... :sad2:

I carried a small backpack with me and never let it out of my sight, even when eating. As I walked through the parks, the first thing that troubled me was the sheer numbers of people leaving so many things in their strollers as they ate in restaurants or visited attractions. I saw strollers with balloons, souvenirs, car keys, pagers, digital cameras, cell phones, you name it. Just because you stepped through the entrance doesn't mean that the "magic" will keep shoplifters and pickpockets out. Please consider this: DW is larger than some cities. If it's that large, I'm sure it'll have a few bad apples in there with the others. Always assume the worst can happen because I'm sure it does.

I'm one that doesn't trust too many people. Absolutely no strangers with regard to expensive personal items. When the cm said it would be safe my first question to the cm would be "and are you accepting responsibility for it" if I leave it here. Of course they won't. Most have good intentions but the creeps never take a take off if they see an opportunity.

LOL :rotfl2: I thought you were saying your DW(dear wife) was larger than some cities, until I read on. That's what I get for skimming through I guess.

A baseball cap was stolen off our stroller!!!Also, a cell phone picked up and not returned from AKL lobby. DW is nice but not really heaven.

I've never had anything stolen but I just can't get my head round the fact people actually leave valuables on stroller tops or whatever whilst they go for a leisurely bite to eat or in line for rides?! Of course you want to believe it's Disney and everyones just there for a good magical time but seriously, they don't sprinkle pixie dust over every guests head before they enter to make sure nobody has any opportunist qualties in them!

Obviously there must be less than wonderful people out there who realize that everyone has their guard down while at DW and see an opportunity to steal a camera or whatever and probably get off with it!

My sister in law left a digital camera, souveniers (there was a few as it was their last day in Magic Kingdom) and a laynard of her daughter's pins lying in a stroller while they went to line up for the peter pan ride. Needless to say, on her return EVERYTHING was gone, including my niece's little pink laynard. It's an awful thing to happen and my sister in law was devestated about the whole thing, but seriously, I just don't get why people would leave things of value anywhere whilst they go and enjoy their day. They let anyone with the cost of a ticket in to Disney, surely people must realise there's going to be a few real bad apples in amongst the bunch?

While I was changing my Dd's diaper in the ladies room, someone stole her sweater from our stroller basket. Although it wasn't valuable, it was a really rotten thing to take from a baby. I learned not to leave anything unattended.
:(
