If so, were you able to take it off without withdrawl symptoms? And how many days did you have it on for?

I've got zofran on hand just in case, I really want to avoid being sick and ripping anything open. I talked to my primary care doctor today and she said that it doesn't happen often, but wrote the zofran just in case.

I saw a lot of people having problems taking it off-dizziness, lots of throwing up.

Care to share your experiences?

I've used scopolamine patches for post op nausea. The can cause urinary retention but if that's not a problem for you, it may help. I put it on the morning of surgery & kept it on for 72 hours. For me it helped because most medications make me sick.

I've also used it when I had a dental abscess & the antibiotics made me sick. It can make you dizzy & it does dry your secretions.

LOVE IT!!

I kept it on for 3 days and was fine when I took it off. It was the first time I have never had any nausea after a procedure.

Me too! I am the queen of puke. Best post op experience I have ever had. :thumbsup2 No withdrawal.

Thats good to hear!

I know everyone is different (heck, I didn't even show signs of appendicitis, I was eating fine, no fever, vomitting or pain from certain "tests" (the heel of the foot tests etc.) but I've read so many negative reports, I am happy to hear some positive ones.

I had mine on for three days after major mouth/throat surgery. About an hour after I took it off, I threw up. :guilty:

Bummer! I hope it was only once since you had throat surgery!! I can't imagine having to throw up a bunch of times on a recently operated on throat/mouth.

The anesthesiologist said they gave me 5 or 6 different things for nausea, including a patch. It was an outpatient procedure, and I think they were afraid I would get sick in my friend's car on the way home, because I get motion sick easily.

I threw up twice with the patch on, several hours after I got home. I didn't have any withdrawal or anything after I took it off. I think I took it off that night.

My mouth was really really really dry for a few days. I think it was from the patch. I couldn't eat toast, crackers, bread, anything like that. All I could eat was applesauce and soup. I finally sent someone out to get me popsicles, and that helped.
