Hi,

I was wondering if anyone of you who cruised before with disney spoke or knew some dutch people. I never see any posts of dutch people thats why i am wondering.

We've only been on one DCL cruise, and it was a 4-night Wonder cruise. We did not encounter anyone whom we knew specifically to be Dutch. However, guests and crew members come from all over the world, so I'm sure if you were looking, you'd find some Dutch people. :flower:

I know that doesn't help much, but maybe someone else can give you more specific information about their cruise experiences. :confused3

Have you booked a cruise? If you are hesitating because of the seeming lack of Dutch folks on the cruise, I would go for it! :cheer2: You will be pleasantly surprised at the wonderful diversity in the DCL crew and guests!

Hope that helps, and I hope to see you on a future cruise!!

Kidding aside, I didn't meet anyone specifically, but I'm sure I saw a crew member with The Netherlands on his name tag. Odds are quite good that there will be some on board.

Hoi Ciska,

I think you will find a few Dutch people among the crew, especially officers. There used to be a Dutch captain..Hans Mateboer. All the crew will have nametags which also says which country they come from.

I'm actually a former CM and I happen to be cheesehead too. I will be going back to the Magic in 3 weeks, back in my old role as youth counselor.

Usually there aren't many Dutch guests onboard, maybe a few more cruise on the Wonder than on the Magic because of the expenses.

Hope this helps

Groetjes

:earsgirl: Hi,

I was just wondering because i don't see any dutch on the board and a lot of dutch people are taking cruises. I don't mind if there aren't any dutch on board. Have been to the USA and cruises several times and love to be among americans.

I have made several cruises on the Holland America Line and there you find many dutch. I don't want to meet dutch on my cruise See them in holland all the time hihihi. I am sure there will be some dutch officers and crew I have heard that some officers who use to work at the HAL went to Disney.

We have booked a cruise for october on the wonder and we are looking forward to it. Thanks for all your comments.

Ciska

The Dutch folks I've met while travelling spoke excellent English and if they didn't tell me I would never have known they were Dutch. I think many times us Americans don't realize they are Dutch. Well, at least I don't. :)

good morning out there in the Netherlands,
I realize my question has nothing to do with cruising, but may I ask what part of the Netherlands are you from? I had a pen pal for almost 50 years from the Netherlands, we loss touch and I have always regretted we lost contact and I am sure she has too.
Just curious
Always

We did not meet any other people from the Netherlands there but a cast member from Belgium -for the other Dis-members here, a part of Belgium speaks the same language- did hear us talking and went over to us for a short talk. It was a warm welcome and a nice surprise being about 5 minutes on board. :wizard:

We are now planning our next Disney Cruise that will be in 2006 and will be a 7 night. :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:
