Hello all.
Just got back from the world, had a great time but did have a problem with the hotel rooms at a couple resorts.
Just looking to hear from other people who have had problems with their rooms, what were the problems and what did Disney do for you? Thanks!

We had a problem a couple of years ago that was handled very well. We had ressies at the Polynesian Concierge for a VERY cheap code rate. Right away we noticed the terrible smell that many people have posted about. We knew we had a really good rate, so we decided we'd just live with it. After spending the first night in the room, my DH awoke terrible congested. We knew it was from the damp, moldy condition of the room. We went out for the morning and came back in the early afternoon for a swim. Upon entering our room, we noticed the carpets were soaked. They had shampooed! It was obvious that these carpets would not be dry anytime soon. They actually squooshed when you walked across the room. We called the concierge and voiced our complaints and asked to be moved to another resort. She told us she would see what she could do. We changed our clothes and headed down to the concierge desk. We really didn't think they would have much to offer us, considering the rate we were paying. When we got down there, she offered us the Contemporary, Yacht & Beach Club, Boardwalk, & Wilderness Lodge. We chose the Yacht Club and packed our bags. A Polynesian bell hop drove us the Yacht Club in a van and escorted us to the Concierge desk. We were very pleased. We thought for sure they would stick us in a standard room.

Although the Polynesian is a beautiful resort, we were very unhappy there. Fortunately, they had wonderful customer service. We loved the Yacht Club. Its now become our favorite resort!! :D

unless you complained while you were there, i doubt that they will do very much.

We too had several problems with our room and other things at Poly. concierge. We did go to the CM's several times, and nothing was done. We left early, and switched to Yacht Club. Upon our return home, I wrote a letter to Disney explaining what had occured. I received a very nice letter, then a phone call. Shortly thereafter, my children received autographed pictures of Cindy, Mickey and Minnie, and 10% of our four night Poly. stay in Disney dollars. They will be spending them in 1 month!!!!! :)

We had a few issues with our stay at the DVC resort at Hilton Head. We filled out the survey form and turned it in at checkout. We complained in the hopes that the resort would get better. And we got more than we bargained for. A phone call from Disney management asking us to clarify what we had written. What should have been a 10 minute phone call turned into a 30 minute dialog between the manager of the HH DVC and my wife. A couple years later, we stopped by HH on our way down to WDW just to look around. And things were better.

So we got exactly what we wanted. Someone listened. :)

Soon after the Boardwalk opened, we stayed there and were very unhappy with our room. (I think they gave us a "smoking" room, when we had requested a non-smoking room.) They changed us to another room. We encountered a new problem with the second room - there was a water leak from the A/C unit. They tried to vacuum up all the water and used fans to dry it, but they ended up changing us to yet another room. The third room was fine. I'm always of the opinion that you need to speak up if your room just isn't "right". They will usually fix it - if not, document and write a letter when you get home.

We stayed at the BWV last March and had payed for a preferred view. When we went to our room, our balcony wall was solid concrete (not grated). I am a petite person and could barely see the pool over the wall! Needless to say, we asked to be moved to a different room. The front desk was accommodating and they actually moved us to a Boardwalk view room! I wish I knew how to post a picture because the view was spectacular.

We also had a room at OKW that had soaking wet carpets. We asked to be moved and they did, but we had to take a 2nd floor room instead of ground level.
