Anyone ever had a Henna tattoo?

My girlfriends and I each got one this weekend. They last just a few weeks....but I was just doing some reading about the history of henna/mendhi and read that it should not be black and that if it is black it could have a dangerous chemical in it that causes burns and that some people have serious allergic reactions to it.....

Now I'm a little nervous about this...has anyone else ever had one of these?

i had one a couple of years ago...mine only lasted a weekend though because i went swimming right after getting it mine was red though, thats what henna is...a red dye.

My daughter and her friend each got one in Wisconsin Dells last summer. They didn't last more than two days and didn't cause them any problems. I'm sure the quality may vary from place to place.

If you have not had any problems or reactions yet, I wouldn't worry about it.

I get one every year at the beach, but mine have always had a reddish/brown tint to them.

My daughter got one at Epcot in January - it only lasted about 2 weeks.
