Ever had one in your wrist? I have a bump on the backside of my wrist...doctor said that's what I have. I'm wondering how long it takes for them to go away. I'm assuming it will just pop. She said if it didn't go away on own, they can drain it. She also said they come and go. So at least it seems to be no big deal.

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these. Any tips to get rid of it.:(

Thanks!:D
Wendy

My dh gets those occasionally. They have no timeline for bursting, just whenever they get full enough. They are tough, so you can't rupture them by pressure or anything. The last one he had , he had over a year before it finally burst.

Same with my DH..he gets them on his wrist as well. Basically, they will come and go as they please....sometimes staying for a short period of time, other times just hanging around forever. It's really hard to rupture them on your own, although once he smashed his wrist hard and ruptured it.

The doctors offered to drain his as well, but they said it would just come back on it's own so he never saw the point.

She has me wearing an ace bandage on it. Did he have to do that? It's driving me nuts and I wonder what difference it will make.

Thanks for your reply.;)

My husband gets them. The doctors advice was to hit the lump with a book and it would go away albeit temporarily.

We did hit it, it did go away, and it did come back. :p

These are one of those annoying but not life threatening things I guess.
Good luck with yours. :)

I had one on the inside of my wrist and it was causing me pain, so the doctor took it out.

I had one on the inside of my wrist also. It just appeared one day and then one day it just disappeared. I think I had it for about a year or so though. It never cause me any pain or discomfort. Weird.

I don't know about wearing an ace bandage on it.....what is that supposed to do? Did the doctor say? My DH never wore anything on his wrist...although he may have wanted to...he was quite self conscious about it.

In the end, though, no one noticed.

I have them from time to time (usually from lifting something too heavy).

Dr said the body just eventually absorbs them back. I was told just to leave them alone.

They usually just disappear in a few months.

herc.

I guess the bandage is suppose to keep my wrist straight. The less you use it, it might help it go down faster. But I can't/won't wear this for months. That's just crazy! It will be lucky to make it through tomorrow.

Thanks for you replys. Thank goodness it doesn't hurt, but it is ugly looking. Hopefully it goes away soon.;)

I had one on the inside of my wrist a number of years ago. It showed no sign of going away and was starting to put too much pressure on other things so the doctor removed it. It was a pretty simple day surgery.

I have one in my left wrist right now..it isn't noticeable unless I bend my hand down at the wrist. It isn't painful unless I have to support myself on my hands, and sometime it will send tingles up my arm. I am scared to have it drained or removed, though...I have to use my hands a lot and don't want to harm them!

Both my brother and I had them. Mine would go away when hit, but eventually it didn't go away and it was uncomfortable to wear a watch. I had mine surgically removed and it has never been back. My brother had his removed and it did come back, guess they didn't get everything. If it becomes hard and doesn't go away I would go back and ask for it to be removed.

I have one on the inside of my wrist that has since mostly gone away. Mine causes pain though. The Dr. did recommended that I wrap my wrist in an ace bandage, but only at night. I am not sure what the reason was though, but it did help.

I've had one on my wrist for over a year now. The doctor didn't seem too concerned about it. It doesn't really bother me unless I'm leaning on it so I guess I'll just let it be and hope it goes away...... one day!

I had one on my foot, and the doctor told me to put pressure on it and rub it several times a day to make it go away. It went away after a couple of months. It never hurt, it was just annoying to have it there.

I had one on my roght hand, near the wrist. It was pretty large and started to interfer with my hand mobility and strength. I had it removed when I was in high school.

Thanks for everyone's replys. I'm going to watch it for awhile...if it doesn't go away, I'll have drained. ;)

I had one on my right wrist and it bothered me. I spoke to a surgeon, but decided to let it just go away on it's on and it did.

I wore a thing around your wrist that keeps it straight for awhile when it made my wrist sore, it was right where your hand and wrist meet. A splint? no...that's not it...but one of those things.

Hope it goes away for you soon.

I had a large one on the inside of my wrist removed when I was four. I've had several smaller ones since then that have gone away on their own.
