Anyone ever had a football team staying above them?

I am staying at OKW and it sounds like there is a football team playing the Superbowl above us. Anyone else ever had this problem and how did you fix it?

If you have one of the rooms underneath a Grand Villa (wood floors), I don't think there is anything you can do about it except ask to be moved to another location.

Never had a football team but the family in the grand villa above us at HHI was sure herding a lot of cattle. We kind of thought that the rancher should have herded his cattle (the kids) in way before midnight. It sure was noisy.

The only time I had this problem was at HHI a few weeks ago. I know that there was a family of four above us. Boy, it sounded like they were bouncing a basketball right above us. It was so bad, I had to wear ear plugs to bed!

We didn't have a football team above us at OKW in Jan. 02, but we did have a family that seemed to LOVE to move furniture at all hours of the night!

This is why we always request a top floor room when staying at DVC or any hotel. I know it's never guaranteed, but most times we get lucky and get the top floor. Ever since we had what sounded like the Ringling Brothers circus performers above us at Hilton Head, and the hotel was booked so we couldn't move, I try to ensure we don't have a repeat of that nightmare.

Yes, unfortunately it is at my apartment complex. Ugh. The guy upstairs is very nice but also very noisy.

Oh man, nothing worse than a noisy group upstairs.

We were real lucky with the room above last trip (troup of mimes).

We had a bunch of superball bouncers above us once. The kids were up to it at 6 am! A well placed mop handle to the ceiling seemed to cure it though.

Best thing is to always request a top floor. We had the "herd of cattle" thing so many times that we just gave up and now never accept any room other than top floor.

The only place I have ever noticed it was at HHI. Boy, they must have had an early flight, because they were stomping around at 4am one day!

Funny this question is asked, as "football teams" are a small part of my reasoning for our DVC purchase. Here is why -

We like to frequent WDW in the beginning of December annually and as most of you know who frequent during this time that the Pop Warner Super Bowl occurs annually during this period. 4 out of our last 5 trips during the first two weeks of December we have encountered Pop Warner Football Teams and Cheerleaders invading the resorts. They are usually well behaved for the most part, but when you have 100's of teen aged boys & girls roaming the hotels in packs of 35, even when well behaved and fairly quiet, it can be like a herd of cattle. So we figured by purchasing into DVC (OKW) we would eliminate the issue by getting away from the regular WDW resorts during this time (this was just a "bonus" and not a decision maker/breaker).

The funny part of this all is, I am a Pop Warner Football Coach myself (15th season) and I enjoy working with and teaching kids -just not while on vacation unless they are family/friends. We enjoy vacationing after the season ends (Nov) so I can get away from the "kids" after spending the previous 4 months with 35 of them almost daily. I have attended the superbowl for the division I coach on a couple of occasions (GF thinks I'm insane but understands on some level) but I do not make it a priority as this vacation is about quality time with family and relaxing after the long season.

My first trip as a DVC owner is scheduled for Dec 04 and I am hoping that the "football teams" are not visiting OKW during this time (actual teams and/or loud DVC families). But if it happens, it happens. If the world were a perfect place we wouldn't need WDW now would we.

I was under over 20 girls staying in a 2bd at HHI. The solution was for me to move.
