8:15 ressie, show up at 7:30, let them know you are there and are open to being seated if available. Anyone ever have any luck with this? Only asking for a friend who is not able to change her reservation time. Thanks!

We chronically show up early for reservations, and usually get seated close to the time we arrive. The two exceptions to that in all our trips was Chefs de France on a PACKED Friday night of the F&W festival, and Ohana. We had to wait about 30-45 minutes for Ohana, but there was a problem with the computers that night and they had to manage the reservations by hand. Like on paper. Real old school. :)

I was wondering the same thing. I had to push our check-in date back 2 days because our son's high school graduation date changed so I had to give up my 6:00 pm 'Ohana adr for that evening. :sad2: My "new" 'Ohana adr is for 8:50 pm. That's really late for us so I was curious if we arrived earlier could they get us in. Any thoughts?

Thank you!!

We were seated about 2 hours early the night before Hurricane Franes rolled in a few years back. It was us and about 6 or 7 other tables being taken that night. Doesn't really help answer the question but I guess you never know depending on circumstances.

I don't think I could come up with any reason that would be as important as a hurricane coming thru!! :rotfl2: I do think we'll give it a try. Can't hurt!!

One of the times that we did show up early, which I am pretty sure it was for a 6:00 PM res and we showed up about 20 minutes early, and got seated 5 minutes after I checked us in. All of the other times we did have to wait, but luckily not that long. We really lucked out, I think the longest we ever had to wait was about 20 minutes. For 'Ohana that is usally good.

That is the one place we have never gotten seated early. We go every trip and it is most often our longest wait....sorry.

We have always had to wait past our ADR time at 'Ohana. We have been about 4 times and had at least a 20 minute wait after ADR time (plus the 15 minutes early we arrive). Still worth it to us though!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: No, really. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
We eat at 'Ohana every time we go, but we have never been seated less than 20-30 minutes after our ADR. We always show up about 20 minutes before our time (DH is insanely anal) and sit there for 40-55 minutes. If it wasn't so darn tasty and fun, we wouldn't bother. Alas, we love love love it. So, we wait.

You might get lucky, but our experience is like most of the other posters in that they seem to run pretty consistently late. That has been our experience as well.

I have had some luck getting seated early. Especially during "free dining." Disney knows that people will book multiple restaurants and only go to one of the reservations. In this fashion, normally that means there are some open reservations.

My DD is graduating and we will be there about the same time as you!!:cool1:

Anyway, we went to Ohana for the first time last year and we had to wait. We got there about 30 minutes early and had to wait in a long line just to check in. I guess it's because it's a very popular place to eat.:confused3 I never had to wait in a line like that anywhere else that we have been though, including LeCellier. I guess we waited about 30 minutes after our ADR time to eat.

It will be worth the wait though. Just grab a snack late that afternoon. :)

Last month, we showed up at 8:20 p.m. for 9:00 p.m. ADR. Honestly, they acted like they were doing us a huge favor by agreeing to check us in early (I was grateful that they handed us a pager ... it was its usual zoo-like environment!). We were seated at 8:55.

The way 'Ohana works on some days, I would show up at 7:30 to try to get seated on time. 'Ohana is one the the restaurants listed on these boards as often being behind on seatings.

We always get seated early at Ohana. I am not sure if it's luck or because there are only 2 of us.

Not in my limited experience. We were there last July with 5:00 ADRs. We got there 30 minutes early and had to wait for them to open the podium. Once they opened the podium, we were among the first 5 or 6 in line. THEN we waited to be seated at least 10 minutes after our ADR. So, I think it's pretty much a chronic problem with them.

Tell your friend to keep trying...I'll bet something shows up.

We've never been seated early at Ohana's. I think we've probably eaten there close to 10 times and we always arrive at least 15-20 minutes early, but have never been seated even at our ADR time. Last June we checked in early at all our ADRs and were seated early at every single one of them, except Ohana's. Tell your friend to keep looking for a better ADR time or expect to have a nice long wait if they show up early.

Thanks everyone for your replies!! I do think we'll give it a try. It's our arrival day and we're not doing any parks or anything. Guess we might as well sit and enjoy the Polynesian. ;)
