Anyone Ever Get Delta To Match Independence Air Or Us?

We already have tickets that will cost 50.00 per tickets to change and then any increase in airfare. I just want to leave 1 day earlier. Delta is showing 210.00 for our flights but independence and us are flying for 143.00 each. Has anyone ever asked Delta to match other airlines airfares? Thanks!

You can ask, but, they will say no. Majors NEVER match with lesser airlines, in fact, they rarely, if ever, match other majors.

They match, but not on a ticket by ticket basis. So since you have already bought they aren't going to match down. However, I thought they changed the change fee to $25 a ticket which would help some.

If its Delta the change fee is $50
If its Delta Express the change fee is $25

I just changed 2 Delta tickets from Providence to Hartford, from a changeover in Atlanta to direct
Cost me $30 more per ticket after the discounted rate, etc.

Reservations agents don't have the authority to manipulate the seat inventory and therefore the price of a ticket.

Most all majors match price (plus sometime a small premium depending on service type, i.e. non-stop or connection) to every competitor. This, however, doesn't mean that there will be inventory on all flights at the competitors price. The function of revenue management is to allocate the number of seats at each price point that it believes a customer will pay. It also protects the inventory from selling out at the lower fare levels in order to leave room for those that will pay more for the same flight.
