Anyone Ever Fly To Disney For A 2-3 Nighter?

I have never done it (coming from home) - would probably do it and actually never thought of it. Might be a teaser but better than staying home!

DH and I are going for a long weekend this Oct for the first time. Leave Thurs morning and home Sunday afternoon. We decided to go to the food and wine festival without kids. Got direct flights so we'll be there in no time at all. Can't wait! :yay:

Wondering if it would be way too short a time. Has anyone ever flown down say for MNSSHP for a long weekend?
I would if I happened upon cheap flights and had annual passes that year! I'm thinking APs and a $99/rt fare would be all it takes to nudge us into a 2 or 3 night getaway!

While we've never done a short trip to WDW, we do enjoy many weekend trips within a 5 hour drive from home. We did an 11 hour drive last weekend but stayed 4 nights. It was great.

We always do a week, but Did 3 nights at WL for MLK. Room rate was dirt cheap, and we Utilized our AP's and TIW.

Yep......we've gone several times on a Thursday morning....arriving mid afternoon, stayed Thurs, Fri and Sat and come home on Sun......we've also done Mon to Thurs same way.

Yes.....I did it several times when they had Super Soap Weekend and once for an AOL DVC get together.

We do that at least twice a year. We fly down after work on Thursday and return Sunday. With APs and DVC we only need to worry about food, and that's minimal for just the wife and me.

I do it when I can find a cheap flight. I'm on the DVC board looking for BLT information (I'm staying on cash, not points) but thought I'd chime in anyway.

If you find the right airfare...it's hard to swallow over $300 for a short weekend! It's totally worth it. That being said, I travel a lot for work, so to me, hopping on a plane for a weekend is no big deal. My finance hates it, so when he comes, I tend to take at least 3-4 night trips instead of just 2!

I have been 6 times over the past 12 months, and I am heading down for last week of Oct, BUT decided it has been a while since I have done Christmas...so I am going to skip another day of class and do a Thur~ Sun night!
Just so I can say...I was there for MVMCP!

We just booked for 2 nights at the end of August as a last minute trip. I love the short trips like that - recharges you a bit between the longer trips. Of course, our trips aren't all that far apart anyway. We went in June for a week, then are going in October for a week then in December for almost a week...:rolleyes1

If I lived closer, then yes, I would go for a short trip. Our family is taking our annual trip in October and the flight total cost was $1,268 (for 4)! I like to stretch out the trip just to make the cost of the flight worthwhile.

Most of our trips to WDW are 3-4 nighters, when the kids have a long weekend at school. Usually 2-3 per year. Airfare for those weekends is under $800 for the 4 of us.

We don't do WDW at Xmas/Easter, which is when we have a full week off and we don't do summer trips trips to FL. We're going skiing for NYE and heading to Washington DC for spring break. We usually do VB for spring break, but the boys wanted to do something different this school year.

I've flown down for the day... taking the first flight in the morning and the last flight at night...

But never for just 2 or 3 nights...

Three day weekends are the way we've done F & W. Sometimes we stay on points, and sometimes we stay at a resort, depends on how our points are holding up! It gives me my WDW fix.

Right now I am bummed I can't talk DH into going in Sept for a long weekend for his birthday. We have a longer trip planned in November with DD, her husband, and her MIL, plus our new grandbaby, Abby. Our two adult sons will probably also join us. DH says we can spend the money on that trip, but I'm itching to go now!

Yep, we've done three-night stays at both Yacht and Beach Club. Why not? For a while until circumstances brought it to an end, we were doing a tour of seeing a game at each of the major league ballparks, and that involved a number of weekend trips.

And since the original question referenced "Disney" rather than WDW specifically, I'll add: 2-night trips to both Vero Beach and Grand Californian.

yep we have several times. Usually it starts with my DH telling me "I saw a great sale on airfare" We have APs so that makes it easy and we can travel any time of year so we will jump on it.

We did a 3 night adults only trip in May for D23 and it was fantastic.

DH and I did a 3 nighter last year... just the 2 of us. :cloud9:

We flew out on a Thursday night red-eye from Orange County, CA and arrived MCO on Friday in the wee-hours. Then we took a flight home early Monday. It was bliss!

Airfare was dirt cheap (for CA to FL), we had our AP's, used a few DVC points - only had to pay for food. :thumbsup2

We're doing this for Family Fun Run/5K at the AK on Oct. 1st. Flying in on Friday, leaving Sunday....can't wait!
