Last year, as we were enjoying a early June trip at the end of our regular AP's, we purchased a set of water park AP's for the three of us - myself, my wife, and daughter. We did this because we knew that we would use them enough on that trip that the AP's would be a less expensive option that buying single-day admissions for the times we would be swimming.

Well, the allure of Disney is drawing us back ! However, we are going back to Disney for the water parks only, not the theme parks. We have four trips to Orlando booked for this year - three for Disney, one for Discovery Cove / Seaworld - yet we will not be stepping back into a Disney theme park till after Christmas.

How many others do / have done this ? I'm not worried about "missing out" by not going to the parks - with so much to do at the water parks, places to eat, shopping, etc. I know that we will have full enjoyment of out trips. In addition , we all think that this will heighten our anticipation of returning to the parks at the end of the year ( for our 20th anniversary ! ).

So, are we crazy - or crazy like a fox :smooth: ?

although we have never actually done it, that sounds like a cool idea. I don't think I would have any trouble getting my dw and dd to go for that idea. The disney water parks are awesome! we actually have a hard time going to our two local water parks anymore; after the disney water parks, the local ones seem so lame and tame and just not too much fun. I say go for it--sounds like a great idea.

We did exactly that two years ago. We had just come off a PAP and were getting a little burnt out from the theme parks. However, we absoulutely loved the waterparks and bought this weird hybrid: DisneyQuest + Water Parks Annual Pass.

That was literally the ticket for us. We had a blast at Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon during the day and played the games at DQ in the evenings. If we didn't feel like swimming that day, we'd go over to DQ when they opened. The lines are much shorter and you can have some games practically to yourself.

It actually turned out to be one of our better trips. Less stress from touring and lines, less heat exhaustion, and more days to just sleep in!

You'll have a blast! Steve

I have never even been to the water parks there. I wouldn't do that only because we live about 30 within minutes of 4 water parks here in the San Antonio area. One of which is Schlitterbaun, voted #1 water park in the USA. Even beating out Blizzard Beach. Anyway, if we didn't have those around and were able to visit WDW as much as you, it sounds like a good idea. Especially if your kids love the water parks too. My vote is you will have a blast.:Pinkbounc

ScottOKW2K -

Having just been to the world last April, my kids really have no desire to do the theme parks again  Can you believe it?

Anyway, since we have 3 plus options left on our PHP's, we are going again this April with the only plans being the waterparks and maybe SeaWorld (the kids fave). Then we'll do nothing but relax at the resort and do whatever we feel like doing. Now that's a vacation!

Have a wonderful time :D
