Anyone ever do private dining at DHS?

I am wondering if this is possible. I would like to do something for DH for our anniversary, but there just isn't a lot of time in our itinerary to break away from the kids (we don't want to miss out on experiencing some things with them)

I was thinking maybe I could arrange a table with a bottle of champagne and some strawberries at DHS after Fantasmic?:confused3 Grandparents could take kiddos back to the resort and we could enjoy an hour to ourselves without missing out on anything but the bedtime routine!

:confused3

I thought I had heard of everything but this one is new to me. Do they actually have an area set up for a couple to go have a Private Table somewhere in the park? And it's available after Fantasmic?

Sounds expensive but cool.

I haven't done it, but in May we had dinner ressies at HBD (one of our favs) and we somehow magically were seated in the Bamboo room, which is a small private room with about six four-top tables near the front of the restaurant (it's the front corner by Starring Rolls.) There was only one other family when we arrived, and they finished their dinner before us, so we had a very magical experience with our very own waiter. They use the room for private dinners and the dining with an Imagineer events, apparently. I'd see if you could book it for a private dessert and wine party. :)

Good luck!

Good idea! That would be close by to where we would leave the family after Fantasmic. Even if they won't do a private desert party, perhaps I could ask for a secluded table and just have some champagne and appetizers.:yay:

I don't know if it is possible, just trying to figure something out romantic that won't take us away from having fun with the kiddos!

It was great! Good luck. If that doesn't work for some reason, you two could take the boat to the Boardwalk area. There are some more adult style restaurants in that area that might be able to accomodate you.

:woohoo:

This goes to show you how much of a neophyte I am. I didn't realize that we could take aboat to DTD. That might be a possibility for a later dinner ressie. I don't want to rush away from the kiddos until they are ready for going to bed with grandparents.

Any place in DTD that is particularly romantic? We did Victoria and Albert's one time and although the food was good, I can get that kind of gourmet experience at home for a lot less $$$. I'm mostly looking for someplace quiet to sip some champagne and romance my hunny.:cutie:

The boat takes you to the Boardwalk area not Downtown Disney. Just don't want you to make ressies and not be able to get there.

Oops, I misread that PP. Thanks! That would not have been a good plan!

Disney will usually accommodate any request, however you are going to pay. I would call Boardwalk private dining and see what they can arrange for you. There are bound to be little nooks and crannies around the resort that would be lovely, and it would no doubt cost MUCH less than staying in a closed park. I would also look into the bamboo room.

I don't want to discourage the private dining in the park, I think it would be amazing, but I do think you could do something more affordable.

Good Luck!!!! Please keep us posted about what you decide!

Yes you can do it...I had a fantasmic party but it was for six of us. There are mins and fees for the fantasmic party (the fee is for use of the small patio).I did a private event at the Boardwalk and the coordinator there helped me set it up. Honestly the fantsmic patio is too large for a party of two, it was too big for six of us. I have also done a dessert party at EPCOT during Illuminations (once for our wedding and once for our first anni) and that was great because they have a small private area for that. You can also use the Boardwalk, GF and I believe Contemporary. Just know that while DIsney creates a fantastic event, it does not come cheap and many fees and such are charged PM for more info.

Our Party on the patio...

You can see how it is open and not private. It was if we were on stage. My guests thought it was awesome because people thought we were VIP' but it is a bit awkward to be eating and the masses are pouring in...

I have quite a few pics and info on both the EPCOT and DHS events so let me know if there is anything in particular you want to know or see.

woow that private party on the patio looks great! Would you mind sharing to minimums price wise? Thanks.

I would bet that if you paid enough you could rent out the private room at Brown Derby, but as for after Fantasmic I am not sure how that would work if the park were closed. The restaurant wouldn't be open either. If they don't have the restaurant available there is probably a space where they will do something catered. Disney can come up with stuff if the guest is willing to pay. Such things won't be inexpensive and the cost might be prohibitive for just two people.
