Anyone ever converted to Concierge level resorts?

Hi there folks!

I know the official line (This is the part where I get Richyman involved.. ;-) ) but I wanted to know if anyone had ever found a way to convert or convince Disney to go from a regular room at say the Poly to the concierge level rooms?

I think it's pretty much just luck of the draw at check-in that this "might" happen. As you know, they don't offer an official way to do it. It would be nice if they could figure out either an extra point or even a cash way to offer concierge.

If you have booked with points at one of the WDW Deluxe Resorts, you may inquire upon checking in if Conceirge level is available. I believe it is approximately $120 per day to upgrade your room, based on availability, of course.

We usually use cash for a Friday or Saturday night. We are arriving on May 5 and decided to get a room at the AKL. I joined the Disney Club, (the old Magic Kingdom Club) and decided to see how much the rooms would be. The standard rooms were supposed to be $105 (special), but they were booked. They said I could get a Concierge Level room. Standard Rate $443. Disney Club rate $331. I took the room (for my mom,,,we are surprising her) Thought it was a good rate but still alot of money. We are only staying one night. Thought you might like that info.

The $105 a night special was per person, based on Double occupancy. So, it was really $210 a night.
