We'll be in POFQ with 2 adults a 4yo 2 yo and 8 yo. My 2 yo has grown a lot and I doubt he will be happy in a Pack n Play. I am going to try to find an air matress but if I don't our sleep is not going to be good. My 4yo kicks, the 2 yo kicks, my DH snores but thats anoher story. No matter how I configure the beds someone will be uncomfy. If we decide we want to go deluxe or switch to AB for a trundle, will we be able to at check in?

I don't think you can change your mind at check-in. You need to give them 5 days notice of cancellation, and they may not have availability at another resort.
Check out the toddler size aerobed. It's called the "sleepaway" bed - I got ours years ago, and it's perfect for a child. It has raised sides, so they won't fall out of bed. Smaller (a bit) than a twin size, so it takes up less floor space. And it inflates in a minute, deflates fast too, so you can inflate it at night, and deflate it in the morning for floor space.
Personally, I think it would be hard with 3 kids and 2 adults in one room. If you're not doing the dining plan, you may want to look into something like the doubletree guest suites, so you'd have 2 rooms (one with two beds, the living room has a sofa sleeper, I did that with my folks when I was 24). The cost can be much less also. Deluxe is a bit better, but you're still sharing one room. I'd go for the comfort of extra space. Or two rooms at another Downtown Disney resort?

We packed our readybed (Cars) for our 2 year old....only because he falls out of bed and the beds are high off the ground! It blows up in less than 5 min and was great, we took ours for DD 4 also, she has to be like him, all was comfy, and if you fly they take up little space. We got ours at walmart for less than $30

One more tidbit...
we just put the beds on ours or stood them in the bathroom during the day.

1) Based upon room availability, you CAN change resorts at check-in.
2) However, you may not get the package from the original resort.
3) You may not, also, get a good price.
4) Kinda-sorta all depends.

You can if there is availability, BUT you will get raked over the coals, price wise.

I been in hotels for 20+ years and if you come to them at check in and want to swap, they will try, but it will be a big upgrade.. Disney has no incentive to move you unless they can get a higher ADR (average daily rate) from your stay..

Leave it up to you, if you feel it is worth it but I strongly suggest not. Some solid ideas with air beds and such in other posts that would sure save you money

i disagree w/the pp...

we had friends down at the bc last year for fdd and they were unhappy w/the bc and fell in love w/the gf when they went to breakfast there... they asked to switch and were given a room at the gf w/no additional charge... (even though it's a more expensive resort) and disney did all the transport...

so my answer would be "maybe" which is better than "no"

If you feel strongly that you will want to change resorts I would try and do that before you leave if possible. If not, you may or may not be able to change resorts at check-in. To me it's a little dangerous to leave it til check-in time because you may not be able to change (for whatever reason) and then you may be upset your entire stay.

So if you decide to change do it sooner rather than later, if possible.

It can be done. I have done it, BUT obviously it depends on availability. When we did it we actually went to the new resort to check ourselves. That may be the difference. I think your check in resort will be less likely to help you out. Also, we did receive the same rate/package and Disney got us a shuttle to change our luggage.

my DH snores but thats anoher story.

I feel your pain. :goodvibes My DH started snoring about a year ago and now I sincerely dread going on vacation with him. I am a light sleeper, but what's a girl to do? Can't afford a divorce . . . :rotfl:

You could also look into the ASMu family suites or a DVC one bedroom....these would all allow you to get some sleep but still be together with your family. I had a friend who usually stayed at deluxe WDW resorts but tried a value. Once she got in the room she wasn't satisified and was able to upgrade and move to the BC, for the difference in room rate. I think the rate issue may depend on the reason you're asking to move- if the room you receive is in disrepair or something isnt' "right" vs. just wanting more space or a different ambience. I would think though if something else is available, they would work with you to find a resort that makes you happy.---Kathy
