I need some help here...I am planning a surprise 30th birthday trip to WDW for my husband, with the sole purpose being that we go during one of the Star Wars Weekends at MGM. My question is are there different events over the course of the three days, or is it the same schedule and events for each day of the weekend? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!!!

Each day is different in some aspects, such as guest speakers, but the shows and characters are pretty much the same day to day. They ususally post the speaker schedule on the Disney website eventually, but it isn't there yet. It is a lot of fun!

My son and I have been gone to SWW a few times. It's a lot of fun and very crowded. But the fun out weighs the crowds. As the previous poster mentioned you need to check the schedule for what special guests will be there on the weekends. It's pretty cool!
:thumbsup2 Have fun!!!

Thank you for your advice! I was planning on flying down to WDW on a Thursday and returning home on a Sunday. Do you think just going on Friday and Saturday will be enough? I usually try to take a later flight home on the last day so we can get the most out of our Disney vacation, so I wouldn't be adverse to getting a three-day pass. It is just about $100 more for the tickets between the two of us that way, but if it is worth it I'll splurge. What do you all think?

Your plan sounds great! (sounds just like ours, lol)

We did Star Wars Weekend a few years ago, and we all had a blast.
The kids have been wanting to do it again, so we're heading down for a weekend in June.
We're leaving very early (7am) on a Thursday, and returning Sunday evening.

We're all set for a Disney week in October, so a SWW trip wasn't really in the cards this year. But we got a Ding fare from Southwest for $39, combined with the government rate at the Dolphin, made it really hard to pass up.

Happy Planning!

I am surprising my boys with a trip on Memorial Day weekend just to do the Star Wars weekend. We will be there Saturday and Sunday, returning home Monday. I am hoping that even with the corwds having the 2 days will allow us to see/do everything. Besides the RNR, I dobut there will be requests by them to do anything non-Star Wars. What have your experiences been with this type of plan? Also, is there any timed schedule that gets published so you can plan before you go?

We were there for two days and it seemed enough. Some of the lines got pretty long though. I am not a SW fan but DH and DS are and they had a blast.

I think that two days are more than enough. We have been the last two years and really did'nt stay more than half a day at the event. We love SW but are not die hards. In 2004 the crowds were light and we had so many photo ops with little to no wait. In 2005 you did well just to walk through the area. We were there the same week-end both times. But remember that the Movie had just come out in 2005. SWW is a good time. :thumbsup2

Another question- I haven't been to WDW in May/June in a very long time. How is the waiting in lines with the heat? I know most attractions have covered line areas- how about the events for SWW? Any lines/areas that get hotter than others?

I'm starting to plan a surprise trip for my DS....we'll only be able to go for a long weekend and I hope to make the most of it.

I have couple more questions please.....is the schedule of events posted anywhere before hand? I've heard that there are separate lines for celebrity fastpasses, special merchandise, the jedi challenge etc., is it possible to do them all?....or should we only pick 1 or 2 things that DS wants to do the most? What type of special merchandise do they usually have and does it sell out fast?

I really need to start making flight arrangements and ADRs....I was hoping the list of celebrities would be available prior to choosing our weekend.

Thanks!!!! pixiedust:
