Anyone ever been to American Adventures in Atlanta?

We are going to Atlanta for 5 days and I am trying to find something to do with the little ones, not too expensive. I saw American Adventures, owned by Six Flags and it looks like something the kids would enjoy. Have you ever been?

Tiff, I used to LOVE American Adventures when my son was little. It is the perfect place for the PRE Six flagers.

My son has always liked all rides and he wasn't tall enough for most of the rides in Six Flags so we decided to try AA. I loved the fact that most of the rides are for BOTH kids and adults.

And don't miss WhiteWater right next door!

Now he's 13 I sort of MISS IT! I was thinking of what to do this weekend and there is a decade of difference in what he wants to do now that he's a "teenager"....

It's a great place, MUCH better than 6 Flags. Have fun!!

We've never been to AA, but have been to WhiteWater (adjacent to AA) several times.

IMO, these parks have suffered since 6 Flags took them over...last time we were at WW, the employees all had the "could care less" attitude often seen at 6 flags. Instead of all the attractions opening at one time at WW, it appeared they kept some closed until a certain number of people entered the park....got to make every penny we can....at the expense of the customer.

Be sure to spend the day (and evening for the laser show) at Stone Mountain.

My DDs love American Adventures! There are rides for toddlers and preschoolers as well as 'small' thrill rides (Galleon, mini-coaster, tilt-a-whirl, swings, and scrambler) for older children. The nice thing about AA is most of the park is shaded so it stays cool even in the summer and there are never long lines for the rides - maybe 10 minute wait at the most. There is also an indoor play area that I'm not terribly familiar with because it is noisy and I avoid it like the plague! My girls love it, though. Lots of fun for the little ones!
