Anyone elses's kids sick now?

Last Wednesday my 15 month old had a fever-102. The Dr thought it was an ear infection and prescribed Augmentin. After 3 days the fever went away but as soon as he took the medicine, he broke out in a rash. We stopped the medicine and his ear looked better too. Yesterday he started feeling hot again and sure enough 102 fever. We went back to the Dr, his ears were fine but his throat was very red. So he did a culture and prescribed Zithromax.In the meantime my 3 yo has a nice case of the croup. She's on pediapred and Albuterol but is sounding better today. The baby still has a low fever today. I hope it doesn't go to 103.4 like yesterday. I am tried of the sickies, I thought summer meant kids don't get sick!

Did they check the baby for Strep? The rash could be scarlet fever. Was it in the diaper area?

Hi Karel The rash was all over his face, chest, stomach, diaper area. The Dr didn't think it was from any illness, either a med reaction or viral. He was only tested for strep yesterday, not last week though.

My dd been sick too. As soon as school ended she came down with an ear infection and a bad cold with a horrible cough. Her dr. prscribed omnicef. As soon as she finished up the medicine she was complaining again her ear hurt. Back to the dr. where she now has an ear infection in both ears . The Dr. prescribed Augmentin. She just finished up this medicine hopefully that will be it for the summer with the ear infections. for you too.

My kids aren't sick but dh and I have had a cold for 2 weeks now that refuses to go away...
