We filed 2/4, but with education credits and rental income. My understanding was that on 2/14 those were going to be begining to be accepted. On Turbo Tax, Federal are listed as "Pending" and I already have the State refund. It has been pending since at least 2/14 when I began looking. I see no sign of them having been accepted. Turbo Tax says once sent in that they will be accepted in 24-48 hours and here we are eight business days later. Is this happening to anyone else? I tried calling Turbo Tax yesterday, but was on hold for 15 minutes before I had to go. According to their site though, once sent in, they can't do anything. Yet, until accepted, apparently the IRS doesn't have any info either. the Where's my refund site shows no record of my return. Who would you be calling for info...IRS or Turbo Tax?

Sorry I totally missed your last sentence. I've used Turbo Tax in the past and recall it taking some time. I'm surprised it hasn't been approved yet. I used Tax Act this year and it was approved in literally 10 minutes. It might be those added credits/considerations that are holding it up with the IRS. I imagine it's the IRS that's stalling the process.

According to our accountant there was a huge snafu on the part of the IRS , some big software glitch. It's effecting people who filed between feb1-8. She has several clients who are experiencing what you describe , they have been told just to wait while the IRS gets everything straightened out. :(

I filled on Feb. 1, my return did include an educational credit and some capitol gains from the sale of my parents home. My return has been accepted, and it says that the refund should be in my bank account in 21 days. That's a long time to wait.
My DS23 filed through TaxAct later in the month, also with an educational credit and he refund was in the bank on Monday. His took about two weeks.
In the past when I have e-filed I would have my money back in less than two weeks. Last year I had to pay so I can't say anything about refunds then.

This is just freaking me out a bit...both the fact that it doesn't even say that they were accepted and that I've always had my refund in about 10 days (with all the same credits.) At least we don't NEED the money at this moment.

I see that you had some rental income. Did TT generate form 8582 - passive activity loss limitations? It did with ours even though we had a gain from our rental income and met all the exceptions to having to file. If you have that form, the IRS site says that they will be accepting those returns the first week of March.

Turbo Tax posted that some returns with form 8582 would be begin to be accepted by the IRS starting on Feb 21. I contacted them via live chat, and the lady was really no help - waffling between Feb 21 and March. I finally called Turbo Tax today and spoke to someone and she said our return had a DCN number which it only gets if it is being processed by the IRS and we should have our refund in 1-2 weeks, but I'm not holding my breath. I have received any emails from TT saying our return has been sent and the WMR site shows no info about our refund either.

We efiled on January 28th, and we still have no real info about where our return stands. It's hard to be patient.

Hope you find something out soon. Please post any update!

That may be it. We had a small gain on the rental, but it did generate that form. I'll probably call turbo tax tomorrow to see what they say.

Mine was also in limbo for a while. I filed on Feb. 1st and dis have college credit in the return. It finally got accepted by the IRS on the 14th, and I received my refund yesterday :cool1:

Don't take this the wrong way, but are you sure you filed it? I know when I was doing my state return on TurboTax I clicked "submit" it said that I had to submit after 1/30. I then had to wait and resubmit it - it didn't just automatically send at that date.

I got my refund within 10 days so do wonder what the hold up is for you?

We filed on the 15th using turbo tax because we had to wait to file. Ours was excepted immediately and we received our tax refund yesterday:). I would keep calling because we couldn't file like others until the 15th but had no problems filing and having ours accepted. Good luck:)

Based on the fact that I already have my refund from the state, I think that it I safe to assume that I submitted the return.

From what I've read processing is backlogged and that will be so for a time. There are a lot of returns to get through and a lot of things this year are making things take longer than usual.

Just checked my account this morning and my very tiny Fed. refund is in (either yesterday or today).

I know we gave our accountant our e-signature pages and check to him around 2/10 - not sure how fast he submitted them after that - I know it's all through the computer now. No paper trail like we used to.

HTH

The same thing is happening to us. We used Turbo Tax. Still says pending. I was wondering if I was the only one. I'm trying to be being patient.

Mine has said accepted for over 2 weeks and no direct deposit - we did H&R. My state was accepted the day after federal and went into direct on Tuesday. I found out today that my federal had been in dd in our checking for over a week and we never got an email and where's my refund still says it is in process. Check your account it was suppose to be dd to.

We have education credits and rental income and ours is still hanging as accepted from February 14th. We used H & R Block online. I filed the kids the same time and the had their refunds within a week. I checked my bank and it's not in there. I'm glad to see we aren't the only ones. I was getting nervous about there being something wrong with the return.

Wife and I sent in on Jan 31st and had education credits, finally got federal refund yesterday (26th), talked with my sister and best friend (education credits also), sister got hers today (27th) best friends is to come in tomorrow (28th). I think they sent in returns near the first of the month.

Still waiting here too ~ we also used Turbo Tax; forms filed on 1/31w education credits, accepted on 2/14 said it was processing ; had the bar showing the status~ now for 2 days no more bar w status and no DD date. We have already received our state return . So frustrating !
