Anyone else's flight canceled on 10/29 due to the storm

In Estero Fl visiting my son....was scheduled to fly back to long island from ft myers through orlando last night...sat 10/29.......hubby saw the weather forecast for when the plane was due to land and advised moving the flight back a day....was lucky that southwest had a seat at the same price so I made the change.....

around 3:30 pm saw my original flight was canceled along with other evening flights back to LI....if I hadn't switched I would have wound up in Orlando overnight ....instead got to spend an extra day with my son

Hopefully all will go well on the flights today

Smart move!!! Multiple planes were diverterd from Newark and New York airports to Bradley in Hartford due to the storm and were stuck on the tarmac for many hours. Some planes sat for more than seven hours!!

Expect delays today too as the airlines try to get reorganized and move their planes to their correct airports.

My sister and her family were flying from Orlando up to Buffalo on the 29th, supposed to leave at 3pm and get to BUF at 6-ish. Initially just delayed but then around 8pm it was cancelled. The plane they were supposed to be on was stuck in Newark NJ. They finally got on a flight to JFK at 3am and then back to Buffalo at 8am this morning. They were at the airport for 13 hours!

Snow! Ugh! To add insult to injury we didn't have the severe weather here in western ny, if the orginal plane was not coming from NJ, the flight would have gone out without a hitch.

Oh wow...that stinks for your sister.....glad they finally made it home safely....
