Anyone else's DH not want to wear matching shirts???

We do not do matching. Instead we "coordinate." That means DH and oldest son may both wear red polos, but not the exact same with a logo or Disney character. Youngest DS may wear a red and navy striped top and I'll wear some top with read in it. I like to coordinate for the photos, as I scrapbook. I know that's "over the top," but hey I have fun with it.

My DH is a polo shirt wearer, so I just go in his closet, pick out his nicest shirts and base the rest of everyone else's wardrobe to go with his.

This is what we do too.
I bought DH some new tee shirts in dark colors (Dark Red, Navy, Deep Green) for our December visit.
DD & I wore our Red Mickey/Minnie tops, Blue Disneyland tops and Green Tinker Bell tops.

Pics turned out great.

no way, no how will my dh do matching shirts. For ANY occasion. Last trip, I made matching shirts for just the kids since I knew including us parents wasn't even an option.

DH likes to wear his sports shirts, and that is IT. It's ok ...I want him to enjoy his vacation.

He said that it was Disney, he wouldn't do it in the real world, but at Disney it was OK !! I was shocked !!

This is kind of how I feel as well. I'm willing to wear matching shirts 1 day when we are there. The other days I'll definitely wear Disney shirts, just won't be matching my wife and kids.

My DH wouldn't do it if I begged. I'm not real big on it either, but why not just the kids? That I HAVE done.;)

Mine refuses to, and honestly if it makes him happy I am fine with it.I really don't do the matching thing anyway

Mine definitely would not do matching shirts. I did the 3 boys matching. Then DD & I did some matching ones but all I got DH was a polo shirt with Grumpy on it.

Then again, there are literally 2 pictures of DH from our vacation, he hates having his picture taken so tries to avoid it 99.9% of the time.

No way would I ever get him to come around to do the matching thing. Good luck with it.

We're not a matchy matchy family so DH would not be alone in his refusal. Frankly, I don't really get why anyone would want to all match. Give the guy a break!

I am a DH and I wore a matching shirt on two occasions.

One was OK (at Universal, wearing shirts that said "Thing 1" through "Thing 9". There were nine of us).

The other was very embarrassing. We got snickers and rude remarks from other people at WDW. It was a stupid blue shirt with a pelican on it advertising my MIL's quilting business.

I will never, ever wear matching shirts again.

:rotfl: This struck me as hilareous! :lmao:

I haven't read all the other replies, but I thought I would suggest something I saw in the Wolfs Dance Orlando video -- a home movie a DISer posted on youtube. Everyone had on a matching shirt except the oldest son, and he just had a plain T-shirt that says "I don't do matching shirts". Maybe your DH would wear that? BTW, anyone who hasn't seen that video, you must!

My DH doesn't care either way. However, my kids don't want to have the same of anything. So instead of matching shirts we match colors. Seems to work best for us. And I agree pick your battles. But, I will agree the matching shirt pictures are soooo cute.:thumbsup2

My DH is adamant about not wearing any matching t-shirts at the same time in the "real world" but when we go to Disney he doesn't mind. He never put up a fuss. He knows the spirit of Disney and will do it to help make our trip special for our son :lovestruc But I also wouldn't try to force him and make him miserable if he said no. :thumbsup2

This year there will be 6 of us: Me, DH, DS, my niece (20) and my parents. We'll all have matching shirts the 3 days we are in Disney, but not like at Universal or anywhere else. Even I wouldn't do it anywhere else. Just something special about Disney World that makes it ok ;)

My DH will wear Disney themed shirts but no luck on matching! DD and I will wear coordinating shirts at least one day (same color, different character). DD and DS will wear pirate shirts (not matching) on same day if I beg :rotfl:

DH will wear a matching shirt but I prefer usually for us to coordinate vs match. He'll wear Mickey, me Minnie and DS7 Pluto or we have done the Fantasia broomsticks where we both wore those and then DS wore Mickey.

BUT he could care less about it so if I don't have time or don't feel like it I just have wear a matching polo shirt. In fact, sometimes I prefer it.

When we were packing for MNSSHP last year I asked DH wat costume he wanted to wear. He scoffed at the idea as if I was nuts. Well, a few days after we arrived, the day before MNSSHP he was so upset he didn't have a costume! He bought a Jack Skellington shirt and hat and was so hapy to be a part of the magic. I think it just took awhile for him to let his guard down and realize it's fun to have fun :cool2:

I brought up matching shirts last week and he is fine with it.

DH and alway try to coordinate what we wear! Especially on the weekends when we get to spend all day together. I guess we are freaks! :goodvibes We do not have anything that is "matching" but we will wear the same color or coordinate colors if I am wearing a print.

Occasionally, our kids will get in to it as well. We all wear shades of brown, or blue or green on the same day.

I have shopped around at zazzle.com for character shirts, but no takers on that one! My kiddos are very in to "preppie" clothes right now...they are 12 & 16...all their t-shirts are american eagle or aeropostle...ect.

My husband will co-ordinate. If the girls (my twin DD's and me) wear pink I might put my DS and DH in green. Or we might wear red and navy. I like the way the pics turn out better when we color co-ordinate. When shopping throughout the year I tend to make sure that everyone always has a dress or shirt in red, navy, kelly green, yellow, and regular blue. My twins are little so they match most days and my son is only 17 mos older than them.

Matching Disney shirts? No way. Not gonna happen. But if we both happen to match that day, that's ok. But I'm usually wearing black or navy and cammo shorts. LOL.

This is what we do. Its a red day, yellow day, blue day, etc. When the girls wear pink the boys wear burgundy. The pics are all amazing and we can easily find each other. Ts are mostly plain (Marks Work Wearhouse plain colour Ts are DH's fav anyway so I just make sure he brings the colours that I plan for myself and the kids - DS7 and DS2 have plain Ts from the Gap ... I find DD's and mine whereever I can)

(I should note that DH is never into stuff like this... I couldn't even get him to wear a bday button or anniversary button on our last trip)
