I can't take it! I'm already on Zyrtec, next step will be my nose spray I guess. I wake up at night coughing, my eyes burn and I sound hoarse. I love spring, but it sure makes me feel horrible.

You sound like my son, 6-8 weeks ago! It was a terrible spring for allergies in FL. He was at his worst when the Azaleas started blooming (they were unusually vibrant, but short-lived, this year), but since they've faded, he's doing much better.

Oh yes, Spring is here - I sneeze at least 5 times in a row every hour or so

Funny thing is one of my cats must share my allergies - we should change his name from Rusty to Sneezy ;)

Be careful with your kitty. My cat does that too. It is not allergies though (thought it was). It actually a form of cat Herpes. We just have to watch because it bothers his eyes and he could hurt them trying to scratch them.

My allergies are bothering me too. I lived in smoggy Brooklyn for 3 years and rarely had a problem. Moved back home to LI and now I am dying. I sneeze like every 10 minutes. My nose is just plain stuffy and my eyes burn. Guess it's time to start taking the allergy meds.

Thanks, I'll mention his sneezing to the Vet!

My Winnie (bulldog) is also being affected...constantly licking her paws. Her allergies are much better in winter.

My son is on Zyrtec, Singulair, and Advair daily and he is having a rough time of it right now. Every morning he gets up with a head full of snot, sneezing, coughing. Yuck. I feel so bad for him. Unfortunately, around here, this will go on until June.

I'm just tired of my head hurting....my eyes feel like they are going to pop out of my head!
And I'm tired of crossing my legs every time I sneeze so I don't wet my pants!! LOL

(tmi?)

We are all having a tough spring. Last summer was the fist time I took allergy meds and I have been dripping like a faucet this past week or so. DS13 has been miserable. DD even asked to take allergy meds because she has had a gunky nose too. This is the worst spring I can remember in a long time.

It's just starting here, but it's starting early. I've had trouble with the allergies all winter this year though; these dorm rooms accumulate an awful lot of dust and pollen, since it was hotter than heck and high pollen when we moved in so the windows were open. But I've definitely noticed an increase in my stuffieness and hacking in the last week or two. With the lack of snow this winter, it's bound to be a very rough spring

My sinuses have been hurting for over a week now, constantly. I'm taking Claritin and Sudafed and Ibuprofen, but it doesn't help very much. I have a prescription for Flonase, but it's never done much for me in the past, so I haven't bothered calling for my refill.

I'm just praying it doesn't turn into a sinus infection.

Yep, all four of us are miserable. We're all taking Zyrtec.

Mine are driving me nuts! Today I was shopping in Marshall's and I bent down to look at a serving platter, and my nose starting dripping on the floor! I know, totally gross. My nose is constantly running, I have my pockets stuffed with tissues, it comes without notice, especially if I bend down my nose will start dripping, not very attractive.

My allergist said that maple pollen seems to be especially bad this year. If you're allergic to maple that would be why - it's maple season.
Also if you're in the NE and allergic to dust mites the extremely dry past month or two we've had has increased the dust mite situation (dry weather = dry skin = more active dust mites).

Both DH and I are suffering. DH has to take a year round cocktail of stuff to keep from having terrible flare ups come spring. he's allergic to a LOT of things, but especially maple and birch. He takes loratadine, sudafed (and it has to be the kind that's behind the counter now), plus flonase, and has to use simply saline or equivalent to flush out. He has really bad sinus problems, and this was the solution his allergist came up with. He does seem to be doing better this year.

I have pollen allergies, but also mold and dust. In addition to the things mentioned above, I have an albuterol inhaler (which I hate) for my asthma like symptoms caused by the dust allergy. I've only had to take loratadine a few times so far, and generally have been able to avoid sudafed (I hate it--makes my heart race).

We're the people you see driving out of the BJ's parking lot with a car full of puffs plus!
