Put it this way.. I WAS worried about the crowd levels and even the weather seeings as it is hurrican season.. however, this past weekend I got something in the mail telling me I need to fill out and return for Federal Court jury soooooooo now I can worry about whether or not I'll be sent notice to appear for jury duty!!!!!! :confused3 Ive never served before and dont know how quickly things work with this, if I will be asked to come during my planned vacation or not!!! :earseek:

Weather. It just is. Nothing shy of being blown from the map will keep me from my appointed rounds!! Nothing, I say!!!
You just try to keep me from this trip, you just try....I dare ya!!!
:bounce: :bounce:
I agree!! Sept. 11 didn't even stop us!! That same week we were walking around Epcot in ankle deep water. :umbrella: Not even an umbrella could have helped that day!!

We went in mid-October 2003 and it never rained. We had a great time.

We went in Early March 2005 and it rained twice. We had a great time.

I didn't mind the rain. The way I look at it, the parks are more empty. I don't ride roller coasters or the flumes, so we can run from attraction to attraction in the rain and skip lines. And we saw lots more animals on the safari at AK when it was drizzling.

Any day at WDW is a good day.

We missed all the hurricanes last sept-oct. We are going in 20 days, no use worrying, can't change the weather!! We can only hope for the best.. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

It seems everytime I have gone to Disney there has been at least one rainy day but it never got us down. I've been during hurricane season three times and never had any problems but then again i could have been lucky. I think its just better to stay optimistic and look forward to your trip and not worry about what might happen. You're gonna have a blast!! ::MickeyMo

We've been to Disney at the end of October for the past 5 years and I can honestly say i don't really remember it raining at all, guess if it did rain it was such a small amount it didnt leave an impact! Leaving on 10/28 and just counting down the days..... :earsboy:

all October travelers! Let's hope it only rains when we are all sleeping soundly in our beds! No hurricanes, no intense heat, no bugs, and no, dare I say it, snow (or at least frost!) :cold:

We're flying out of BWI on October 1st, going to MNSSHP October 2nd. The weather will be great.....just keep repeating, "the weather will be perfect, the weather will be perfect." ;)

We went last year October 17-October 26 and the weather was perfect. It was in the mid-80s in the daytime and high 60s at night.

It rained one night for about an hour while we were watching Wishes at Mk, but we were sitting in the Plaza Pavillion CS near Tommorrowland and avoided getting wet and had a great view of the castle.

Have fun!!!

Would that mean you would need a sweatshirt/sweater at night??

Be careful filling that out. I just heard on my local news that there is a new scam going around invloving jury duty and how criminals are getting your personal info from that.

I just hope that everyone's vacation will be ok. See for us we are visiting my Dad first in BB. And there is only 1 flight that day to leave. So everyone please pretty please pray....not just for us, but after Rita, there will be no more hurricanes. Luckily this Thursday is the first day of Autumn.

We leave in 20 days and I'm hoping as time gets closer we won't have any weather problems at all . . .I've come to the realization that I have to take things day by day.

Keeping my fingers crossed for all you who go before us.

We're also leaving in 20 days! I think the worst will be over by then. I have to.

I leave on the 1st and right now I am more worried about the crowds that week than anything! This is a once in a lifetime trip for our family and I thought I picked a great week but I guess everyone had the same idea I did. Oh well!!

Leaving on the 30th...co-worker just got back and said the crowds were non-existent. We went in 2002 in the first full week of October and there really weren't any crowds then either (although there was a record-breaking heat wave). :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

I am the ultimate postive thinker...the weather is going to be great and the crowds will be minimal.

From your mouth (fingers ;) ) to God's ears! :)

I've been watching the weather and definitely a little apprehensive about it but I'm an over achiever - my coworkers finally reached the conclusion I was nuts when I started researching the hurricanes that hit FL over the last 5 years and how many were in October, etc. :rotfl: At this point I'm more worried about the hurricane of 2 small people - our DD3 & DS4 being let loose in WDW in 11 days!!!!!! :teeth: than the rain. Nothing will prevent us from having a grand time!

So there are a lot of us Marylanders headed down to the World next month? I'm taking the autotrain down Oct 1 and get a nice long 2 week stay in the world. Staying off property as we're Marriott Vacation Club owners.

I'd have a lot to worry about between the train, the car, the weather, etc. but escaping work and health problems has been more pressing. Headed to my first MNSSHP on Oct 13. (We wanted to slowly indulge ourselves over the trip.)

If you see a guy in an Orioles or Ravens cap say hi. That's my dad (I'll be somewhere nearby).

We were there last March and had some of the coldest and rainiest weather of the past few years. Traveling in October is new for us. So far hurricanes have been headed south or east. And considering central Florida is hit maybe once in 50 years, I figure they got their fill last year.

Hi pouty tink. I don't know if federal Cort Jury duty is the same in all states, but my fried go called for it here in NJ and she has to go every Friday for the next 18 months! They select 24 people. I think 18 go and 6 people are alternets incase someone cannot come due to vacations, sick etc. She did not have to go at first, but was called in when someone else could not make it. So if you are picked you should still be able to go on vacation. Don't feel too bad my friend got picked for both federal and local jury duty in the same week!

We will be arriving at WDW on Oct 1st. I have been keeping an eye on the weather. Hoping for no hurricanes, rain I can deal with. We will also be at MNSSHP on Oct 2. Let's all hope for good weather! :sunny:

Me too. If it rains once I'm there I don't care. But I just want to be able to get there!!!
same here, as long as we get there.........

We are going in mid-October and I am hoping for perfect weather. As others have said, once I get there --I'm at DISNEY!!!.
Living in Eastern MA, I am actually more worried about a hurricane that could hit and damage my home while I am away, than I am about a hurricane in Orlando. Many hurricanes head right up the East Coast -----
So I am trying not to worry, and hoping everything will be fine.
