Anyone else worried about fall supplies?

At least one thread a week you get caught telling untruths and won't admit a thing.

A little humility would go a ways with several posters.
Your mileage may vary certainly, but I can only post the truth as it is here. And judging from articles from CNN and ABC News, this is the case in many other parts of the country. Lord, I got flamed when i post the articles ON the shortage of coins and paper currency. Have a lovely evening

I just put "Clorox Wipes" in the search engine on Amazon Prime. This is what came up:

The at school the Fire Marshall only allows Clorox brand for wipes and Purell for hand sanitizer. You can't buy any of that here.

I finally found hand soap at Target but limit to 1. It felt like Christmas when I carefully place that in my cart and hiding it under a bag of chips.

No sprays or wipes of any brand. People have been using dish soap for cleaning so that is also hard to find. Target had no toilet paper again yesterday when I was there.

We're pretty well stocked on paper products. We stocked up on meat back when all this started, and we've been eating our supply. Now, I'm hesitant to replenish because we live on the coast. Can't stand the thought - or the smell - of losing a freezer full of expensive meat.

Your media reports were that the manufacturers said the shortages would end in MAY.

It is now the end of JUNE. Real world people are telling you the shortages are still prevalent in numerous and varied areas of the country.

Maybe it's time to update and revisit the all mighty ABC CNN stories to what is really and currently available on June 30, 2020.

You are referring to unsubstantiated articles to people from around the country who are literally experiencing shortages of various products.

I am going to believe these people over some untraceable claims from someone who chooses not to provide links, or dates, or specific locations, or actual station affiliates... Just because it's not happening to you doesn't mean it's not happening.

And, again, that product is "currently unavailable". Amazon doesn't know when or if it will be available again - but I can tell you with absolute certainty that whoever purchased it in that 2:06 interim between your post and my response will not - repeat, NOT - he getting it this coming Wednesday.

Like I said in post 141, your mileage may vary Nothing is going to apply 100%, but I think based on what the manufacturers, distributors and stores are saying shortages are the exception not the rule now.

My neighbor got his Lysol wipes an hour ago from Amazon, no idea why it is coming up currently unavailable is coming up for your. Unless that fact that we have 4 major Amazon warehouses within 60 miles of here.

Shortages are definitely not the exception where we live. It's still very difficult to find any kind of wipes, cleaning sprays, hand soaps, etc. and Lysol spray is a unicorn. (As is yeast.) The only thing we have started seeing more of lately is hand sanitizer, and you have to go into the store to find it vs. any kind of online ordering or curbside pickup. Fortunately bleach is available now. Paper products and most cleaning supplies when you find them in the stores are limited to one. Some stores are still limiting meat to one pkg. of each type of meat.
We have enough at home for daily living, but to try to stock up ahead of time is difficult. It's almost a full time job trying to find necessities~ I have a DD who works in a hospital and a freshman heading off to college so cleaning supplies are important for us and shouldn't be this hard to find. (I also have a DS who is a pilot and he has a hard time finding basic cleaning necessities as he travels.) We have friends around the country who say the same so yeah, what is this life even. Twilight Zone for sure!

It's ok thanks, it was just a beloved topic of debate on the DIS a decade ago ie telling us how we should be using our cards outside the US ;) I'm perfectly fine waving mine, and I don't need a chip number. But thanks! It does make it easier during the pandemic though. :)

And fun fact if anyone ever goes to Sweden - cash really not required or even accepted there, even prepandemic.

I saw what you were doing. I laughed, a lot!

Yes you did. So I clicked on the link at that time and it said the item could not be shipped until July 13-17.

Daily cases are increasing and more widespread than ever before.
How would there NOT be a shortage of supplies in the Fall/Winter when it’s expected to be even worse than it already is right now?

I am going to make sure I don't run out, or even come near running out, of certain things. Tp is one. Meat is another. I'm not going to go crazy and buy 10 packages of tp, but if it is on sale I am for sure grabbing a package.

Around here, soup and canned vegetables are still hard to come by.

Generally speaking there shouldn't be everything that occurred now. The pandemic took everyone by storm. Not every item that people had issues with would I expect the same. Lot of it comes from us just not being ready to stay at home for a long time such that we all did, lot of it comes from companies being unprepared for a mass desire for something all.at.once.

That said some things will be the same as it is now just hard to come by. I think it's possible we'll see limits on items and potentially on more items than before as more of a norm come fall because when the pandemic hit limits often weren't applied until after the availability issue was in full swing. More people would have been able to get toilet paper for instance if at Costco the limit early early on was 1 (or 2 max) you wouldn't have seen as much of the carts and carts full. Same as Walmart and other grocery stores.

If anyone is looking, I was just able to order disinfecting wipes from Staples with free shipping. They are Perks Disinfecting wipes 75 count. Limit of 5. Hope this helps someone.

Just checked - they're "out of stock".

Just got back from Costco. No masks or sanitizing wipes to be found yet. Mountains of toilet paper and paper towels abound, with a limit of one per visit. Everything else seemed relatively back to normal with a good selection of fresh meats, etc. They were really pushing the vitamins along the entrance aisle (something I usually see in January). Maybe Costco knows something that we don't know and they are subliminally trying to get us to stock up.

I guess I go at least another couple of weeks with Clorox Anywhere Spray and Kirkland wipes as my only open BINGO squares. (We only shop once every 10 to 14 days, so that is the earliest I will be back at Costco.)

Oh bummer. I know the lemon ones were out. Were the green ones too? Shoot...thought it may help someone looking.
I googled "Perk disinfecting wipes" and got 5 hits at Staples. All of them say sold out.

I did a failed, depressing Wegmans Instacart shop last week (Wegmans site said everything was I stock - they lied.) I did another shop over the weekend, using the Instacart all - and got my wipes! And I think I'm at 149 rolls of toilet paper. Plus my two emergency-only, last-ditch, Scott-quality rolls.

according to www.howmuchtoiletpaper.com, I should be good until August 6. 2021.

Have you read this thread?

are you implying I'm hoarding? :rotfl2: Okay, but it's the one thing that will never go to waste. I have four rolls of paper towels, three hand sanitizers, three wipes, and, okay, a bunch of stuff to DIY.
Oh, I get it. I use the link you provided and we have enough for 54 days. That's for 4 of us. Maybe I need more?
